Although Paris may traditionally be considered the City of Love, America has a romance capital, too: Alexandria, Virginia.

Don't believe us? It's true! Amazon.com recently released its list of the Top 20 Most Romantic Cities in the United States, and Alexandria took the top spot for the second year in a row. Apparently the city has the magical key for keeping the love alive. America’s Most Chivalrous Cities

To come up with the list, Amazon compiled sales stats in four categories on a per capita basis: romance novels and relationship books, romantic comedy movies, sexual-wellness products and Barry White albums (nice). Alexandria came out on top, followed by Knoxville, Tennessee in second and Orlando, Florida in third.

And as it turns out, Florida is the most romantic state in the country, taking up 20 percent of the real estate on the list. Along with Orlando, three other cities made the Top 20: Miami, Gainesville and Tallahassee. And not surprisingly, Miami is the sexiest place in America, scoring the top marks in the sexual wellness category of Amazon's research. 3 Types Of Sex For A Long-Term Love

A few other fun facts from the findings? One city turned up the heat in a big way this year, as Knoxville jumped a whopping 14 spots on this year's list. According to Amazon, they earn the title of "Most Improved." Youngsters must know how to bring the romance, too. College towns like Ann Arbor, Knoxville and Gainesville all made the grade. And in case you were wondering, the cities in most desperate need of a Love Life Makeover are El Monte, California; Paterson, New Jersey and Miami Gardens, Florida. These three places were dubbed the least romantic in the country. Sad, right? We fully expect them to make like Knoxville and jump up next year's list.
