Creating art is incredibly calming to the body. When people watch their paint brush glide across a canvas or follow their pencil making strokes, it's hypnotizing.
Making visual art, in particular, also lowers a person's cortisol levels, the hormone that manages our stress response. So, for a person who is carefree and wants to focus on just relaxing themselves, art really brings them balance. They aren't worried about how their work comes out, just as long as they have a chance to create.
2. Reading actual books they enjoy
Getting lost in a book is something that can calm anyone down. Books take us to different worlds where we forget our real-life worries, and we can focus on characters and their own trials and tribulations.

4. Puttering around in a garden often brings them peace
Gardening is so calming because it helps people ground themselves. And when people are grounded, they reduce stress and anxiety while connecting to the natural world.
They're focusing on using their hands and working the soil. All their hard work eventually comes to fruition when they have vegetables or plants to harvest at the end of the season. So, people who maybe seem a bit aloof are right to just go outside and smell the roses.
