People With Big Hearts & Zero Tolerance For Drama Usually Say 8 Phrases In Casual Conversation
chesterf | Shutterstock People with huge hearts but no tolerance for drama shut down the theatrics with the language they use in even the most casual of conversations.
Truly empathetic people know that they can’t pour from an empty cup. If someone’s drama is draining them, they’ll let them know in a kind way.
Phrases loving people who have no tolerance for drama say when chatting with an attention-seeker:
1. ‘Everything is fine, I just don’t want to argue about this’

When drama arises, big-hearted people don’t want to make it worse by coming off as offensive. Instead, they approach the situation with kindness. That doesn’t mean they let people walk all over them. They kindly stand up for themselves while keeping things supportive.
Sometimes, the person they’re talking to might have anxiety, especially when bringing up a difficult situation. Instead of making them feel worse, reassuring them can lighten the mood. They don’t want to deal with the drama, but they don’t want to add to the problem. The reassurance brings peace to the conversation.
2. ‘Let’s think about their perspective’
When drama arises, it can be hard to see someone else’s side of the story. You get caught up in your own feelings and can’t process anything else. Someone with a good heart tries to help calm drama. They try their best by showing empathy and encouraging others to do the same.
Helping someone understand information they may have missed. It’s easier said than done, but empathetic, patient people might try this option to put an end to unnecessary drama. They’re showing compassion without getting caught up in the other person’s feelings.
3. ‘There are two sides to every story’
When drama comes up, people will try to win you over to their side. Kind-hearted people can get caught up in the back and forth because they are good listeners. However, while others plead their case, it gets overwhelming. They have no tolerance for drama, especially some they had no involvement in. Instead of being burdened by the stress, they may kindly try to end the conversation.
Reminding the other person that they’re not the only one dealing with the situation might help them come to terms with what’s going on around them. As a byproduct, everyone else gets a break from dealing with it, too. By asking them to see both sides of the story, they might become more mindful of how they approach the situation.
4. ‘I won’t get involved in that; I’m sorry’

Drama can follow us no matter how we try to avoid it. Kind-hearted people can get sucked into it by trying to help the people around them. It’s in their nature to guide others through difficult times, which can come with responsibility and perpetuating the cycle of gossip. It can be hard for them to end conversations like this, but those who refuse to get involved find ways to stay out of it.
Sometimes, it’s as simple as saying they won’t get involved. Being direct makes others respect you. Kind-hearted people can do this well. They tell them they’re not interested in getting involved, but that they’re sorry for what they’re going through.
5. ‘I forgive you’
People with big hearts want to believe everyone in their lives is looking out for them. Unfortunately, that's just not how life goes. They are more willing to forgive when it happens, though.
They are really good at being the bigger person and accepting an apology when they are still upset. It relieves any resentment. Drama persists with the more energy we invest in it. Moving forward brings healing and gets you away from that frustrating situation.
6. ‘Please respect my boundaries’
When you picture someone sweet to everyone, you likely imagine a pushover. Their kindness gets taken advantage of, and they exhaust themselves showing up for everyone else. It’s not easy to create and enforce boundaries when you want to be selfless. Some people like this have found a way to put their foot down without feeling guilty.
Enforcing boundaries is one of the most important things we can do not only for ourselves, but for other people as well. We’re showing them that while we’re kind, we’re not to be messed with. Someone like this is comfortable not only setting boundaries, but also making sure no one crosses them. They may be direct when they have to, but it earns them respect.
7. ‘Let’s address this when we’ve both calmed down’
Drama affects us all, even if we do everything we can to avoid it. Sometimes, people come at us with anger, and it can be difficult not to give it right back. This makes solving the problem more difficult in the long run.
Slowing things down can keep hot tempers from boiling over. Big-hearted people encourage everyone to take a step back and remove themselves from the conversation until they’ve calmed down.
8. ‘Can we talk about something else?’

Sometimes, it’s not the right place or time to talk something through. When tensions are high, things can get out of hand quickly. If a good-natured person notices someone getting upset, they may pivot the conversation to something more positive. Not only to help the other person, but to keep themselves from getting involved in drama they definitely don’t have time for.
This can be hard to say, especially when you can tell they want to keep the conversation going. However, in most situations, it’s better to shut it down than allow it to continue. When approached with kindness, most people respond well to stepping back from the conversation.
