Highly Intelligent People Are Completely Indifferent To 6 Irrelevant Things Average People Waste Energy On

For highly intelligent people, they understand that not every expectation or opinion deserves their energy. But average folks dedicate their time to irrelevant things that don't actually matter.
Intelligent people are indifferent to these irrelevant things average people waste energy on
1. Winning every argument

Some people can't let an argument end without having the last word. They need to prove their point and want everyone else to understand why they're right. Highly intelligent people enjoy a good debate, but it's not for the sake of making others think they're the smartest person in the room.
An intelligent person can recognize when a conversation has stopped being productive and has started becoming tense. Sometimes, the other person isn't interested in understanding what they have to say, or both people have completely different values. It can be difficult for the average person to let that go.
Being right doesn't automatically mean the conversation was worth having. Because you can prove your point but still lose your relationships and connections.
2. Obsessing over what strangers think of them
Most people care a little bit about how others see them. And that's normal. We're human beings and are wired to want to belong.
But highly intelligent people aren't interested in what people think of them, especially those they don't know. They understand that people are going to form opinions regardless, but there's only so much they can do about it.
Trying to control every opinion is exhausting. Eventually, people spend more energy on worrying than actually living. For intelligent people, it's absurd. They understand that other people's opinions are based on information they probably don't have, so why let that judgment live in their minds continuously?
Average people waste their time on this. They change who they are to appease others. But smart people see right through it.
3. Pointless drama
It seems like some people have an endless supply of emotional energy for other people's conflicts. Drama can become a form of entertainment, giving people something to emotionally react to and speculate on.
Average people waste their time and energy gossiping and spreading rumors, but intelligent folks don't. If the situation doesn't involve them, they stay out of it. That can look boring to someone who enjoys social intrigue, but there's a practical reason for it.
Every hour spent thinking about someone else's drama is an hour not spent on your own life. It means avoiding focusing on your goals and relationships in favor of another person.
Intelligent people are quick to recognize when curiosity has turned into something negative. They know that they don't need to worry about others' opinions or spend time on the lives of people that have nothing to do with them.
4. Needing constant validation
Highly intelligent people aren't immune to insecurity and do experience self-doubt, but many eventually realize that external validation isn't the best way to boost their confidence. They know that if your sense of worth depends on other people's approval, you're giving them enormous control over your emotional state.
Intelligent people instead wonder about their own actions and are able to look inward. They don't need compliments to feel good about themselves because it's not the foundation of their identity.
They don't need everyone to constantly reassure them. They understand that when you aren't desperately trying to prove yourself, you have much more freedom to simply be yourself.
5. Following every trend

Every few months, there's something everyone seems to care about. Maybe it's the latest TikTok trend or product on the market. Whatever it is, most average people feel the pressure to keep up. They don't want to feel behind or miss out on what everyone else is doing.
Highly intelligent people enjoy trends too, but they don't automatically assume popularity defines their importance. They don't live for others or follow them just because it's the cool thing to do.
They're more comfortable stepping outside the crowd when something doesn't make sense to them. It's because their identity isn't dependent on keeping up with everyone else.
6. Looking busy for the sake of appearing successful
There's a strange obsession with being busy, so much so that it's become a status symbol of sorts. It can sound like success to the average person, but highly intelligent folks are more interested in if their efforts are producing something meaningful.
You can attend hours of meetings or work constantly, but still be inefficient. Hard work doesn't always determine success, and that's why very smart people always ask if something is worth their time before doing it. Being busy can feel productive even when it isn't.
There's nothing impressive about being exhausted or feeling burned out. Highly intelligent people have realized that protecting their energy is much more valuable than trying to prove they're ahead of the curve.
