Billy McFarland's Fyre Festival has been the talk of the town these days thanks to the releases of Netflix and Hulu documentaries based around the 2017 fiasco.

In case you need a short refresher on the Fyre Festival, it was meant to be a luxury music festival taking place in the Bahamas in April 2017, but essentially fell apart and never really happened — even though thousands of people spent money on tickets and even flew into the Bahamas for the event. The founders of the festival were met with millions of dollars worth of lawsuits for fraud.

The doomed festival went on to become the subject of various memes and tweets and eventually two documentaries, which have brought the scandal back into the current pop culture world almost two years later.

The Netflix Fyre Festival documentary, appropriately titled Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, has also brought attention to the people featured in it, who worked on the festival themselves and are interviewed throughout. One Fyre Festival employee who's spotlighted in the film is Samuel Krost.

Krost has stood out in the documentary not only for his personal story about the catastrophic event but also for his ties to popular songstress Selena Gomez.

Who is Samuel Krost? Here are some details about the Fyre Festival employee and his connection to Selena Gomez.

1. Krost's job at Fyre Festival was to book the acts.

In the documentary, Krost explained that he was hired to book all the artists for Fyre Festival. He was only 23 at the time and was given the job despite the fact that he'd never done anything like it before.

The lineup was supposed to include popular musical talents such as Blink 182, Disclosure, and Major Lazer. However, one of the festival's founders Billy MacFarland, never paid the bands so they all opted out of performing at the event.

Blink 182 even addressed their decision not to attend on Twitter explaining that they "weren't confident" that the equipment necessary to perform was up to the standards they needed.

2. Krost now has his own fashion company.

Krost has seemingly moved on from the Fyre Festival debacle. He currently owns a luxury clothing company called Krost New York.

Additionally to that we are also bringing awareness through all digital and social marketing initiatives,” he explained.

Krost has a background in fashion, having previously worked at luxury label Helmut Lang.

However, Gomez herself never commented on the pair's relationship.

It was Krost who actually confirmed the relationship over a year later in August 2016. In an Instagram post, Krost wrote a heartfelt message about Gomez. "Selena is a real girl with a real heart and real feelings. All you superficial who are just unhappy with your love lives, understand that love is real. Although we have ventured on separate paths, at least I know that love exists. I love you, Sel." he wrote.

The post was later deleted.
