To make a quantum leap means to open your mental boundaries and use your imagination.

That's what Einstein did and that sure got his ideas noticed. He was a great proponent of giving time and space to visualize, to make the impossible possible. Think about his quote: "Imagination is more important than knowledge, knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."

Wondering what you can do to turn your dreams into realities?

Do what Einstein did. Find a place and lie on your back. Look up at the sky and the stars. If it's too cold outside, peer out of the window. The sky and stars will find you if you let them.

Now, just take deep breaths and let go. Can you do this for fifteen minutes or perhaps a half hour? Good.

Now go about your life and let the wonder of the world seep into your cells.

Your mindset right now may still be flawed by doubts and fears. You, me, and in fact, most of us, have not been trained to think in bold new ways. Yet, research indicates that we only use, around ten percent of our true potential.

Take, for example, the time I karate chopped a piece of wood into two. I was in a group of twenty people and ten of us had the chance to "chop" while our partners held the wood boards in front of us.

My mind said, "It's impossible!"

I watched as others moved, seemingly effortlessly, to make that one piece of wood into two.

When my turn came, I took a deep breath and said to myself, "If they can, I can." The secret was to keep imagining I could do it, to see it happening and not stop at the wood, just see my arm and hand go totally through the wood, kind of like a golf swing.

When I saw, heard, and felt the wood break apart, I entered a new time in my life. I knew at that moment that I could do more, so much more than I ever thought. I could climb mountains, run marathons, and make a difference.

I learned to shut the skeptical part of my mind and let my rational mind play second fiddle to my dreams. You can, too.

Your doubts are anchored in old patterns of thinking. Years ago, as little kids, you and I and everyone began to lose the wonder and accept the "be careful" mantra.

Sure, you don't want to run into oncoming traffic, but that's not what I'm talking about right now. I'm talking about suspending your skepticism and disbelief that what you want and what you dream about is just a little kid's fantasy.

Just stop believing those old and outdated ideas you've been carrying around about your personal limits. Instead, see yourself succeeding. Imagine succeeding.

Go ahead, get ready to write the book, run the race, take the job, and start the business in your garage (you won't be the first).

Give yourself the present of you. This is the time of year to do it.

Imagine your future, and you'll be more likely to achieve it.
