About Paula Kirsch

As an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and Licensed Master Social Worker, I help couples and individuals through sex and relationship therapy. My hope is for my clients to build confidence and satisfaction in their intimate relationships and all areas of their lives through our work together.

I provide a safe space for individuals, couples, and “throuples” to discuss topics they find troublesome or embarrassing in their lives. I am honored to provide a safe, non-judgmental, client-centered approach while facilitating healing and re-connection for clients and their partner/ partners.

Most individuals involved in polyamorous /open relationships and or Kink are in the closet. Some of my clients tell me they have been afraid to talk to a therapist about issues in their lives for fear of judgment.  That’s why I let everyone know I am open to discussing all things concerning sexuality and relationships. I also work with those who identify as Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual, in addition to heterosexuals. I offer Sex Therapy: Hold the judgment!

As a graduate of the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan, I have specialized training in this area. I’m also an Adjunct Professor at the Wayne State University School of Social Work, where I teach a class in Human Sexuality to graduate-level Social Work Students. I am a sex-positive, client-centered therapist.

Because of the pandemic, I am currently (and for the foreseeable future) seeing my clients via HIPAA compliant ZOOM! I have found this format to actually be beneficial in the therapy process, making therapy more convenient and accessible for clients! I can see therapy clients who live anywhere in Michigan and Coaching clients who live anywhere in the world!

I also have a passion for coaching women going through life transitions like divorce or relationship breakup and its aftermath.  I enjoy coaching women who have obstacles to pursuing their dreams. I find that it is still not unusual for women, even educated, successful women, to be plagued with body issues and generalized feelings of not being “good enough”  or, conversely, feeling like they must “play small.”

I find that as women, we thrive with a positive community of like-minded women! When we work together, there is no challenge we can’t handle! (Think Moms Against Drunk Driving, for example!) But COVID19 has been so isolating for so many of us for so long now!

That is why I am facilitating “I Can Do This!” group coaching.

We will:

  • Learn skills to set boundaries without guilt
  • Learn communication skills to get us through even the toughest conversation
  • Build self-esteem and self-confidence
  • Kick stress to the curb
  • Focus on Self-Care
  • Set goals to improve our lives, relationships, and careers
  • Be part of a supportive community

We meet over zoom every other week on Monday, and because this is coaching, not therapy, I can work with women EVERYWHERE, not just in Michigan! This Group begins meeting in October 2021!  Register now! Check out my website for early-bird registration!
