About Nadine Macaluso

Years before opening her marriage and family therapist practice, Dr. Nae—as her patients call her—lived a life found only in the pages of a Hollywood script. Dr. Nae is the real-life woman behind the fictional Naomi Belfort, the Duchess of Bay Ridge, ex-wife of the infamous "Wolf of Wall Street," Jordan Belfort. Their eight-year tempestuous marriage was tainted with abuse, greed, drugs, and trauma. Rather than be defined by those chaotic years, she not only survived the Wolf, she thrived. At thirty-one after she left Jordan, Nadine, and her two children relocated to California, she is happily remarried and went back to school at thirty-nine to become a licensed marriage and family therapist. She now uses her education and lessons from her traumatic past to heal others.

In 2015, she received her Ph.D. in somatic psychotherapy, a therapy that engages the body as an intervention in psychotherapy. In 2016, she finished a 2-year post-doctoral training in a cutting-edge mind-body treatment method, The Neuro-Affective Relational Model (NARM). NARM is a holistic therapeutic method that works with the patients’ thoughts, emotions, body, and relationship patterns to heal developmental trauma.

The vision of her work is to help people connect to and express their authentic self.  She has witnessed that when her patients learn to love their authentic selves, they develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of agency.

As a mindful communicator and master connector, Dr. Nae knows that after relational trauma or CPTSD, people can experience post-traumatic growth and become their "Self at Best." She is humbled daily by her work of being in service to others, and it is her mission to break the stigma of mental health.
