About Maurie Lung

Professionally, I have integrated my knowledge and experience of recreation, education, psychology, research, and evaluation to experientially provide mental health services for youth, families, and adults. I feel so lucky, and frankly amazed, to have a career of more than 25 years where I have the honor to witness the growth and change process through playful and outdoor experiences. I founded a counseling business and I am an Associate Professor at Prescott College overseeing a degree program in adventure-based and nature-based counseling. In both of these roles, I participate in research, both as a researcher and a provider, including serving on the Internal Review Board overseeing research projects and an Accreditation Council and a Certification Council, both of which my role is to interpret research into practices for programs and practitioners. Plus, in non COVID time, I get to travel internationally to provide training and consultation. (Although I did complete my third book during COVID!!)
