12 Things A Real Man Does Not Do – Letter To My Daughters

As of father of two amazing daughters I have tried my best to tell them every day they are intelligent, beautiful and special. I posted a letter I send them listing 25 things a real man does. I was asked to follow up that post with things a real man does not do.

A REAL man will never:

1. Slap or punch or hit or push you (if that ever happens you leave immediately and I will see that he pays dearly).
2. He will never make you feel bad or disrespect you.
3. He will never put you down or make you doubt yourself.
4. He will never treat you as annoying or high maintenance.
5. He will never treat you like a "gofer" and expect you to handle all the hard or bullshit things in his life.
6. He will never lie, cheat or betray your trust or your love.
7. He will never use the excuse, she pursued me. I can tell you that in 20 years of traveling, I was hit on by many women, yet I never betrayed your mother or our marriage.
8. He will never give you cause or reason to question his love and devotion to you and your family.
9. He will never leave or abandon you.
10. He will never treat you with care and consideration when you are alone and put you down or disrespect you when he is with his friends.
11. He will never hide his money or how much he makes from you.
12. He will never try to separate you from your friends or family.

You will meet, associate with, and date many people in your life. No one person is worth your time or effort or your tears if they aren't willing or able to be a REAL man. There are many, many boys who never grow up. They may be 30 or 40 years old...but age does not make someone a REAL man. Don't waste your time with boys. The right man, a REAL man is out there for you and that day he comes into your life will be the best day of his life. Believe me, he will know and acknowledge it was the best day of his life.
