I Love Humans... Being

News alert… and this is a Big one!

Your failures are a sign you are… hold your breath… HUMAN! (Thanks for the reminder Marie Forleo!)

I love humans… BEING.

Sometimes, you think that you are supposed to transcend being human and be perfect all of the time. Well, not the case…

Here are a few examples of humans observing humans being human (say that three times).

  • The movie “13th” is eye and heart opening and chock full of humanness (please grab a spot of tea or glass of your favorite and watch it, NOW!).
  • There is research that pasta is NOT linked to making you fat (okay, it was sort of funded by the pasta making industry, but today I choose to disregard this fact – pasta is damn good and hey, you know what? I’m human! More pasta please).
  • Mary Tyler Moore is remembered for her joyous smile, great acting talent and sharing her fortune with charities like Human Rights Campaign, Everyone Matters, ASCPA, and the Desmond TuTu Peace Centre – the epitome of how beautiful and generous us humans can be (side note…growing up, my brother often called me MTM because of my optimistic attitude and beret tossing ability).
  • Productive FAILURE might be responsible for us learning better. It works like a charm in Singapore math classes. It shows our limits and our humanness but also triggers us to course correct and go deeper in our learning. Hmmm…
  • And, some wisdom from one of my favorites, Brené Brown…“You can’t move through an emotion if you can’t name it.” You know I’m all about increased and improved Emotional Intelligence around here… we are human after all and need some help from time to time.

So, I DareU™ to discover healthier ways to LOOK (see), to LEARN (grow), and to LOVE (connect) this week.

AND… when you fall (and you will), get back up, because it may be the hardest and quite possibly the most powerful thing you will ever do.

You’re a human remembering how to BE. You’re perfectly imperfect and that’s a BEAUTIFUL thing.

It’s simple, not always easy but simple, Simply Shrocking.

Wholeheartedly,

Diane
