About Dan Kolubinski
I’m a psychotherapist and coach with a particular focus on helping individuals who struggle with self-criticism, low self-esteem, and high internal pressure. My individual work draws on evidence-based approaches—especially Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Metacognitive Therapy (MCT)—combined with mindfulness and compassion-focused practices. I support clients in quieting harsh inner dialogue and building a more balanced, compassionate relationship with themselves.
In addition to my work with individuals, I also specialise in couples therapy. I help partners navigate patterns of conflict, infidelity, disconnection, and miscommunication, with a focus on strengthening emotional understanding, improving communication, and rebuilding trust. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and informed by evidence-based models of relationship wellbeing.
My interest in these areas is rooted in my doctoral research, which examined the underlying mechanisms of self-critical thinking and its impact on self-worth. This research has shaped my therapeutic approach, allowing me to develop targeted interventions that support lasting change—both in how people relate to themselves and how they connect with others.
I’ve published on self-critical rumination and couples therapy, and I’m a regular speaker at psychology conferences. Beyond my clinical practice, I also run workshops for professionals and the general public on topics including self-criticism, mindfulness, and relationship health.
