About Amanda Savage Brown

As a licensed psychotherapist specializing in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help adult women live with mindful self-acceptance. As my client, you learn to struggle less with your unwanted thoughts and feelings; you bring your whole self forward and pursue what matters, deep in your heart, beyond socially-defined standards. I draw from my life’s work in women’s health that began while earning a Ph.D. in genetics, continued as an officer in the United States Public Health Service, and thrives in my private psychotherapy and coaching practices.

Using ACT's evidence-based approaches, I help you resolve painful childhood experiences, navigate relationship distress, grief, loss, and difficult change, overcome people-pleasing and anxiety, and let go of body image struggles and self-non-acceptance.

In 2018, my personal life and professional expertise aligned as I moved through my breast implant removal (i.e., explant) journey and witnessed countless women struggling with the deeply felt, yet poorly supported, mental, emotional, and social aspects of breast implants and their removal. To address the unmet psychosocial needs of any woman whose life journey includes breast implants, I founded Breast Implant Through Explant (BRITE™) Inner Healing and authored Busting Free, the award-winning self-help book for women longing for self-acceptance before, during, and after explant. Whether or not you have breast implants, I am committed to liberating you from any of society's "rulebooks" prescribing how you ought to think, feel, behave, appear, and age. Click here to learn more about working with me and follow me on Instagram and Facebook @dr.amandasavagebrown.
