Awwww. Nigerian Afrobeats singer Davido and his fiancé Chioma Rowland have just welcomed their first child together, David Jr. to the world. Davido, whose real name is David Adedeji Adeleke made the announcement via his Instagram and Twitter accounts. He captioned the photo of himself holding his new son: “OMOBA TI DE!!! DAVID ADEDEJI IFEANYI ADELEKE Jr I !!. D PRINCE IS HERE!!!! 20 – 10 – 2019 !!! Love you my STRONG WIFE!!! @thechefchi I LOVE YOU!!!!!”
Davido, known for the song "Fall," shared a video to his Instagram story. In it, he's holding his newborn son and saying: “What’s up son? What’s good boy? What’s up son? Hey my son here, my boy is here.” Davido then opens a bottle of champagne and takes a drink before he sprays the champagne all over the room excitedly and beating his chest in the process. Well, his excitement is certainly contagious. So, this begs the question: who is Chioma Rowland, Davido's fiancé and baby mama?
1. She is from Lagos
Davido proposed to gourmet chef Chioma Rowland during a dinner in London in September after two years of dating. He proposed in front of family and friends with a huge pear-shaped diamond ring. The couple went public with their relationship in 2018. Davido's song "Assurance" is dedicated to Chioma. She also stars in the music video for the song.
2. When is the wedding?
Davido and Chioma are planning to get married in 2020. Chris Brown may be part of their wedding as reports say he recently asked to be in Davido's wedding party. The two struck up a friendship while collaborating on the song "Blow My Mind."
3. How did they meet?
According to Nigerian news site Pulse, Chioma Avril Rowland and Davido met while they were in college at Babcock University. While Davido has been rising to the top of the record charts worldwide, Chioma has been building her reputation as a chef.
4. What's up with Davido?
Davido is a huge star in Lagos but what some people may not know is that he was actually born in the United States. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Lagos, where he made his debut as a member of the group KB International.
5. This isn't his first child
David, Jr. isn't Davido's first child. He has two daughters from previous relationships with two different women. Davido and Chioma have known each other since before he met his previous baby mamas but they reportedly didn't get romantically involved until 2017.
6. Her chef skills
Recently, Chioma has been on tour with Davido. She's a big help with his entourage. As a chef, she often whips up meals for the entire crew.
