Insomnia Quotes Can't Sleep At Night

Some nights it feels like it's impossible to fall asleep. Like, you know you have to get to sleep soon, because you have a big day tomorrow, but you just cannot seem to turn everything off.

Insomnia is a surprisingly common sleep disorder, and according to Science Daily, 1 in 4 Americans develop insomnia each year. 25% of the population is a lot of people struggling with falling asleep at night.

Insomnia and having trouble sleeping can be caused by a number of factors, and exhibit some common symptoms — one of them being acute anxiety, which is "characterized by difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep for as little as three nights per week for at least two consecutive weeks up to three months," according to the same study.

Science Daily explains that insomnia can turn into a chronic issue "when it occurs at least three nights a week for more than three months."

The Good Body reports that insomnia is a widespread sleep disorder which affects around 60 million Americans, where 22 million people have sleep apnea, 12 million have restless leg syndrome, 3 million suffer from REM sleep behavior disorder, and .2 million people suffer from narcolepsy.

Believe it or not, insomnia has been credited with causing a loss of productivity in the workplace where it has cost the American economy 63 billion dollars a year.
