Raiven has been dating 'Alaskan Bush People' star, Bear Brown.

Naked and Afraid, Man vs. Wild, Survivorman, Mountain Men, Alone — America really enjoys watching reality television shows where individuals show us what it’s like to survive out in the wilderness. Whether it’s braving the cold without succumbing to hypothermia or spending days trying to catch wild game for food, survivalists put their bodies through the ringer.
But sometimes, the drama unfolds off-screen. And this time, it’s the stars of Alaskan Bush People who are in the spotlight. However, it’s not because of anything the cast members have done; rather, the girlfriend of Bear Brown, Raiven Adams.
Apparently, one of her family members — her mom, specifically — has had quite the run-in with the law.
Who is Raiven Adams’ mother, Kassy Contes?
Kassy Contes’ past has now come to light, revealing that she spent 45 days in jail back in 2000 for stealing between $50 and $500 worth of clothing. She was charged in July 2000 with a class B theft in Potter County, Texas. Contes, who then went by the name Kassy Michelle Green, waived her right to an attorney, spending 45 days in jail and paying a $100 fine.
According to the complaint, “Jim Koch, affiant, swears upon his oath that, in Potter County, Texas, on or about the 14th day of December, 1999, did then and there unlawfully appropriate property, namely clothing, of the value of $50 or more but less than $500, from the owner ... with the intent to deprive the owner of the property.”
Thanks to the internet, fans of the show did some digging on Contes, finding her rap sheet and aliases. Some of her offenses include:
- 11/18/98: Bad check, paid fine
- 11/27/98: Bad checks, dismissed
- 11/4/99: Bad checks, case dismissed
- 11/27/99: Bad check, paid fine
- 12/14/99: Misdemeanor theft
- 12/14/99: Theft by conversion
- 1/21/02: Theft by check and failure to maintain financial responsibility, paid $2,000 bond and spent the night in jail
- 1/21/02: Disorderly conduct, took a Nolo plea
- 12/11/02: Driving without license/suspended license, convicted
- 11/2013: State of Florida tax lien
Bear and Raiven met when she worked for her mom as a photographer, working as an assistant at Bear’s brother, Noah’s, wedding to his wife, Rhain. Bear and Raiven hit it off, and now, her photography services have been used by the family on other occasions as well. The two have been together for nearly one year, but have a 10-year age difference: Bear is 31, and Raiven is 21.
Bear opened up about his relationship with Raiven in an interview with People, revealing, “We just agreed we both felt a connection. I would definitely say what I like most about Raiven would simply be Raiven herself. She is truly the full package. She is, like, beauty in every sense of the word, inside and out. And she is the most awesome and extreme woman I’ve ever met! I adore her, honestly... We’re enjoying summer on the mountain together and can’t wait to see what the future brings. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been.”
Bear’s family also seems to really like Raiven, and Bear’s sister, Rainy Brown, recently posted a photo on Instagram of herself, sister Bird, and Raiven.
According to a source for RadarOnline, fans will get to see their love blossom on the new season of the show. “She was welcomed into the Brown family with open arms. Bear has also met her family and they are so happy together! Fans will get to see Bear fall in love for the first time. Raiven has been a great addition to the cast,” they revealed.
Everybody makes mistakes, so hopefully, Contes’ run-ins with the law are all in the past. Now she can focus on her business and her daughter’s happiness.
