The rumors are resurfacing over 20 years later.

Wheel of Fortune has been a household name since 1975, when the game show first premiered on American television. For individuals who like to solve puzzles rather than test their knowledge on shows like Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune has also provided families the chance to spend 30 minutes together in some friendly competition.
Though the show has had some shockers in terms of contestants pronouncing things wrong or just giving the flat-out wrong answer, there’s one scandal that focuses on our favorite hostess: Vanna White. But the claims date back all the way to 1995.
Who is Liza Greer? In her book, You’ll Never Make Love In This Town Again, Greer alleges that she and White had a lesbian affair in the 1980s.
Along with Vanna, a section of Greer’s book entitled “Sleeping With Celebrities,” details her encounters with celebrities Warren Beatty, James Caan, Don Henley, George Harrison, Gary Busey, Don Simpson, Billy Idol, two unidentified kings, and others.
The two met at the Playboy Mansion during the Hugh Hefner era of throwing parties. And according to an interview with RadarOnline, Greer said, “She’s supposed to be pure — but she wasn’t with me! It was a bisexual area during that time. If you partied at Hef’s that’s what you did. People liked that. [Vanna] was known for it.”
She also added that John Gibson, White’s fiancé at the time of his death in a plane crash, knew about her interest in women. In the interview, Greer recalled one night where White called her to come over, even though Gibson was home.
“John went to get something at the store — cigarettes or drinks — [and] we were in the bedroom. The attraction was already there. She was beautiful. One thing led to another and she made a pass at me. We were lesbian lovers and did what two people do in a bedroom. I had sex with her, obviously. It was pretty wild,” she revealed. When Gibson came home, White “acted like nothing happened.”
Apparently, their tryst was only a one-time thing, and when they would run into each other, they would act friendly, though things were a bit awkward since White “was in the limelight and wanted to keep under wraps.”
As for Greer, she doesn’t regret a thing about their night together. She said, “It was definitely something where she knew exactly what she was doing. I can tell when a girl is gay and just doing it for one time. But it was not just one time. It didn’t feel like that to me.” Greer alleges that White is bisexual, but is “probably into just having a relationship and wants a family life — and that’s a good thing.”
White was married to ex-husband, George Santo Pietro, from 1990 to 2002, and has two children: son Nicholas and daughter Giovanna. She’s been dating John Donaldson since 2012. In an interview with Close Weekly in 2016, White discussed her relationship with her boyfriend.
“He is kind, understanding and lets me be me. The biggest surprise to my fans is probably how simple I live in real life. I’m a real down-to-earth girl. I usually spend my days without makeup, wearing tennis shoes. I love the outdoors. I love waking up early when it’s quiet, going out on the balcony to hear the birds sing,” she revealed.
White hasn’t spoken out about the claims brought up by Greer, but who knows if it’s true, or if Greer is just out for attention.
