On Bridget Everett's episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, a certain comedian's name was "bleeped" out when mentioned to the show's host, Jerry Seinfeld. It seems a bit of a strange thing to do, of course, and only served to make the comedian even more notable than he was before. The comedian has since been revealed as one of John Belushi's friends, Bobcat Goldthwait.

Let's look at what we know about the Bobcat Goldthwait Jerry Seinfeld feud.

Who is Bobcat Goldthwait, the comedian who was bleeped out?

1. He is friends with Bridget Everett and John Belushi.

This long-time feud came back into the spotlight when Bridget Evertt's episode of Netflix's hit show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, aired.

The duo was discussing the death of legendary comedian John Belushi, and during the discussion, Everett mentioned a comedian whom she's friends with, who was also Belushi's best friend. Seinfeld, in response, said the comedian had a "stupid voice" and "sucks" at his job.

Later in the episode, Everett and Seinfeld stop by a psychic shop; this psychic mentions a "longtime feud" with a comedian. Seinfeld mentions the name again, and it's bleeped out again.

2. Bobcat Goldthwait has taken shots at Jerry Seinfeld before.

Back in 1995, Bobcat Goldthwait gave a free-form interview to a local Washington state paper, The Spokesman Review. In this interview, he took a hard shot at Jerry Seinfeld, who was dating a teenaged Shoshanna Lonstein at the time.

"Here is this creepy Scientologist guy (dating) teenage girls — which I don’t care about one way or another. What I find creepy is that people are convinced he lives in that apartment, and those are his wacky friends. They don’t like each other; they’re actors paid to pretend they like Jerry Seinfeld. He’s a weird guy. But everybody thinks he’s normal and I’m weird,” he told the outlet at the time.

No doubt that Jerry Seinfeld heard about this diss at the time, and probably carries a grudge about it to this day.

3. Reddit users uncovered the Bobcat Goldthwait Jerry Seinfeld feud.

Reddit users quickly figured out that Jerry Seinfeld and Bobcat Goldthwait were feuding, and it was Goldthwait's name that was "bleeped" out.

Fans of the show started a Reddit thread speculating about the identity of the "bleeped out" comedian in question. It didn't take long for people to deduce that the comedian in question was Bobcat Goldthwait.

"As others guessed, Bobcat Goldthwait. Despite the bleep you can see it's a two-syllable last name. "Stupid voice" comics still alive who active in the Jim Belushi era limits things pretty sharply, and Everett has done stuff with BG recently," wrote one commenter.

"It definitely seems to be Bobcat, but why was Jerry SO agitated? Was it really that comment from 1995? That's some ancient history! Jerry said there was a more recent "article in the paper" where the person in question made a veiled jab at him. I was curious and searched for it, but couldn't find any jabs — veiled or otherwise," wrote another.

4. Bobcat Goldthwait isn't the only comedian that Jerry Seinfeld had a beef with.

The rumors in the so-called "comedy community" abound about all of the comedians that Jerry Seinfeld has a beef with. One such comedian was Anthony Jeselnik, who actually made clear that despite his rumored beef with Seinfeld, he was not the comedian in question whose name was bleeped out.

After my own investigation, I am pleased to announce he wasn't talking about me," he said on his official Twitter account.

5. Goldthwait took a potshot at Jerry Seinfeld recently, too.

These days, Goldthwait is more known for being a director than he is a comedian and an actor. However, in a recent interview with The Baltimore Sun, he took another potshot at Jerry Seinfeld, too, which is perhaps why Jerry Seinfeld bleeped out Bobcat Goldthwait's name in his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee

"I watched that Jerry Seinfeld movie about stand-up (Comedian). I don't know, man. Sitting around with a bunch of guys, slaving over a new 'clapper' joke? For God's sake. People are gonna think all comics are crazy, because here's a guy with $450 million, bummed out because he can't get laughs at an Improv. Crazy! 'Dude, if it bums you out, don't go on stage. You've got $450 million. You can pay these people to clap," he said to the outlet.

6. Bobcat Goldthwait is one of the most beloved comedians of our time.

Per Flavorwire, regardless of whether Bobcat Goldthwait has a beef with Jerry Seinfeld — and, frankly, regardless of Jerry Seinfeld feels about Bobcat Goldthwait — he's still considered a legend.

"It’s worth remembering, however, that there are plenty of performers like Goldthwait who understand the difference between censorship and a negative reaction from the public. Many even mine that understanding for comedic value; Andy Kindler’s annual State of the Comedy Industry address, delivered last month at Montreal’s Just for Laughs festival, took aim at Seinfeld," reported the outlet

That pretty much sums it up.

7. Goldthwait was recently in a car accident.

According to Fox News, Goldthwait and fellow comedian Dana Gould were injured in a two-vehicle crash pulling up to a gig in Atlanta. Both were taken to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The comedians' driver was at fault for driving on a suspended license and failing to yield. Here's hoping everyone is okay!
