Who Is Megan Rapinoe's Twin? New Details On Her Fraternal Twin Rachel Rapinoe

Just when you thought that award-winning soccer player Megan Rapinoe couldn't get any cooler, it turns out that she not only has a twin, her twin sister is just as much of a beast on the soccer field as she is. Who is Rachael Rapinoe?

Here's what we know about Rachael Rapinoe.

1. She's 11 minutes older than her twin sister.

According to The List, Rachael Rapinoe was born 11 minutes before Megan. The Rapinoe sisters — who are outspoken liberals — grew up in a very conservative part of Northern California. While both sisters participated in various community service endeavors while growing up, they both were also very into soccer from an early age.

"[Megan Rapinoe] comes from a large Christian family and just so happened to grow up across the street from a church in Palo Cedro, Calif. She's the youngest of six, but only by about 11 minutes (her fraternal twin sister Rachael was born shortly before her). Their brother Brian introduced the twins to the sport of soccer when they were 4 years old and would regularly play with them on the field across from the church," reported the outlet.

2. Rachael Rapinoe is also a soccer player...but she's an entrepreneur, too!

According to West Coast Conference Sports, Rachael Rapinoe had a career as a soccer player. She played for Starjnan Women, and was also listed as a co-player of the week for the outlet.

But according to Rachael's LinkedIn page, she's also an entrepreneur. She's the co-founder of the sports company, Mendi, and the co-founder and CEO of Rapinoe|SC.

"Mendi empowers athletes to recover better through innovative products that disrupt the status quo for pain relief. As a Co-founder with four partners, I will continue to apply my expertise in training, competition and recovery in an effort to better understand the role recovery has in performance and the human body. With my network of influential athletes and passion for competing, I will help shape Mendi’s products to meet the relevant demand in sports and keep everyone at top performance," she writes on LinkedIn.

Like her sister, Rachael Rapinoe is an entrepreneur.

3. Like most twins, Rachael and Megan Rapinoe are extremely close.

Writing for The Players Tribune, Megan Rapinoe said that she and her sister were extremely close growing up. So close, in fact, that Megan credits Rachael for helping her "get through" her so-called "awkward" pre-teen years.

"I used to follow Rachael around — and I mean like physically. I was always right on her heels, about two feet behind her, for the entirety of seventh grade. I don’t know how, but she just had it all figured out. She was the queen bee. So I was her shadow, and I was totally cool with that. You know in Planet Earth, how those little fish kind of chill on top of the dolphins or the whales or whatever, and ride around with them? That was me. I was the little Nemo fish, like, “So what’re we doing today?” Rachael saved me. Without her, I don’t even know how I would’ve handled The Wonder Years," she wrote

Megan Rapinoe said that she's very close with her sister.

4. But they have very different personalities.

According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, even though Megan and Rachael Rapinoe are twins, they have very different personalities.

"We sound exactly alike, but our personalities couldn’t be more different. Rach was the social queen. I was the tomboy. She was chill. I was sweet but also sort of bonkers, emotionally," they report.

We look forward to hearing more about Rachael Rapinoe in the future!
