It's been years since Alice Cooper has made headlines in this way, but far be it from us to deny the man a good time! Recently, the original shock rocker made headlines when he announced that he and his wife had a death pact — or did he? Who is Alice Cooper's wife?
Long before Marilyn Manson was a glimmer in Satan’s eye, Alice Cooper was the patron saint of all things shocking in rock’n’roll. And his latest comment about having a “death pact” with his wife Sheryl Goddard has raised more than a few eyebrows, and suggested that the legendary “Welcome to My Nightmare” singer is still as crazy as ever, even all these years later.
But now, however, Alice Cooper is singing a different tune. Let’s look at what he said—and what he meant.

1. He initially, reportedly, said that he and Sheryl Goddard have a “death pact” between them.
According to Page Six, the rocker and his wife of more than 43 years reportedly have plans to die together, because one can’t live without the other.
“I couldn’t live without her. We always said there will never be a time when one of us will be mourning the other,” he reportedly said, while adding that he “never cheated” on his wife from the day they met in 1975, and that “we’ve made a pact — there is no way of surviving without each other.”

2. Alice Cooper also credits Sheryl Goddard and a Higher Power with quitting drinking.
There’s a number of reasons why Alice Cooper is so attached to his wife, and all of them are great. According to Noise 11, it was Cooper’s wife and his belief in God that have kept him sober for so long.
“I’ve been married to my wife for 43 years and I’ve never cheated on my wife. I play golf six days a week and the reason is I had to find something that was going to be an addiction, because I like being addicted. But I want to be addicted to something that’s not going to kill me,” he told the outlet. “I came out totally sober and it was basically a gift from God that I didn’t have to go to AA, so I looked at it this way, God gave me another chance and said, ‘Look I don’t mind you being a rock ‘n’ roller at all but also be a Christian,’ and I went, ‘OK, that sounds good to me.’ ”

3. He understands he’s a “rock’n’roll villain,” but insists he’s really a nice guy…and that, too, is thanks to Sheryl Goddard.
According to the Telegraph Herald, Alice Cooper credits his wife with keeping him grounded, so much so that she goes on the road with him as a dancer in his live act. “It’s an amazing band,” Cooper said. “I would put my touring band up against anybody out there.” That outfit includes dancer Sheryl Goddard, his wife of 43 years,” reports the outlet.

4. Alice Cooper and Sheryl Goddard have a “life pact.”
When word got out about Alice Cooper and Sheryl Goddard’s “death pact,” the shock rocker ran to People Magazine to clarify that he and his wife have a “life pact” instead. “Sheryl and I do NOT have a death pact; we have a LIFE pact. We love life so much. What I was meaning was that because we’re almost always together, at home and on the road, that if something did happen to either of us, we’d most likely be together at the time. But neither of us has a suicide pact. We have a life pact. And, besides, I’m booked through 2028,” he said.
