He's a troubled soul who left Guns N'Roses shortly after the release of their seminal debut album, "Appetite for Destruction," and has been unable to find his true bearings since. Now, he's made the news again, and this time, for much more tragic reasons. Did Steven Adler attempt suicide?
Here’s what we know about this latest tragedy.

1. Steven Adler stabbed himself in the stomach.
According to Page Six, Steven Adler was hospitalized last night after what police called a “possible” suicide attempt when he stabbed himself in the stomach.
“Officers responded to Adler’s Studio City, California home at around 6:30 p.m. PT on a call of a possible suicide attempt,” Officer Mike Lopez told the outlet. “When they arrived, officers determined that no crime had been committed and deemed the incident a medical emergency only.”

Is Steven Adler okay?
2. He has had a long history of struggling with addiction.
According to TMZ, Steven Adler is someone who, like many rock stars, has struggled with addiction for most of his life. At his worst, his addiction was so bad that it affected his performance with Guns N’Roses. Depending on who you believe, he was either kicked out of the band or left on his own. He also appeared on two seasons of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew Pinsky and appeared on one season of Sober House, also with “Dr. Drew.” In all three of those seasons, he was shown as falling off the wagon of sobriety.

Was this an accident, or something worse?

3. The injuries were non-life threatening.
According to The Blast, even though it was certainly a scary situation at the Adler household, it’s unclear whether Steven Adler tried to commit suicide, or if he merely had a bad accident. The outlet confirmed the injuries Adler suffered were “non-life threatening.”
“LAPD officers responded to a call on Thursday around 6:30 PM for a "possible suicide attempt" at Adler's home in Studio City. Officials also confirm they responded to a possible stabbing. Upon arrival, 54-year-old Adler was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” they wrote.

Steven Adler's injuries were not life-threatening.
4. Steven Adler recently played with Guns N’Roses after his departure so many years ago.
According to SPIN Magazine, Guns N’Roses is currently on a three-year-long tour called Not In This Lifetime. The tour, which began in 2016, is scheduled to go all the way through to the end of 2019. The lineup, which includes most of the original members of Guns N’Roses, has Frank Ferrer currently playing on the drums. The most interesting part of all of this is Steven Adler was asked to sit in on the drums for a few special guest appearances earlier on in the tour.
Whatever the case is, we sincerely hope for the best for Steven Adler.
