Who Is Lady Gabriella's Husband? New Details On Thomas Kingston And How He Managed To Marry Into The Royal Family

Lady Gabriella Windsor is the 38-year-old daughter of Queen Elizabeth's couson Prince Michael of Kent. She got married in the typically lavish fashion of the British Royal Family last Saturday at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. If that venue sounds familiar to you it's because that is the very same castle where Meghan Markle married Prince Harry and Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank. The happy couple got engaged in August 2018. The statement from the Palace said: "Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr. Thomas Kingston. The engagement took place in August; Mr. Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark." Kingston is not a member of the Royal Family by birth, but he is, of course, part of the social circle the various royals move in. Who is he? Who is Lady Gabriella's husband?

1. His career

Thomas Kingston graduated from Bristol University with a bachelors degee in economic history. After that, he went to work for the Diplomatic Missions Unit of the United Kingdom's Foreign Office. For nearly three years he was stationed in Baghdad as a project officer for the Iraqi Institute of Peace. His job was to mediate conflicts in Iraq between political, religious and tribal leaders. He also helped negotiate the release of hostages. Hmmm. That sound like it could be a useful skill to have as a new member of the Royal Family. He then moved into finance with a job as an equity analyst for the global aset management firm Schroders. From there he became a managing director of Voltan Capital Management. He left that job in April 2017 and now works as a Director of Devonport Capital in frontier market investment.

2. His ex-girlfriends

Thomas Kingston has been dating in the royal circle for quite some time. He was dated Natalie Hicks-Lobbecke, one of Prince William's ex-girfriends, for awhile in 2011. Kingston also dated Pippa Middleton! They didn't date for all that long but they have remained friends as they've been seen together on a number of occasions over the years. In 2013 they attended the races at Chelthenham together. Just this past February they were spotted out for a walk together in Chelsea. Kingston and Gabriella also attended Pippa's wedding to James Matthews together last year.

3. How did they meet?

Lady Gabriella, who goes by Ella to her close friends, and Thomas Kingston have been together for a number of years though it is not know exactly when they met or how their romance blossomed. Lady Gabriella studied at Brown and Oxford and got her degees in comparative literature and social anthropology. She is a Senior Director at Branding Latin America specializing in travel and the arts. She spent a number of years in Latin America teaching Englisi in one of Rio de Janeiro's favelas, working on music events in Buenos Aires and doing academic research in Caragena. Gabrielle is also a writer.

4. Her spot in the Royal family

Lady Gabriella is a member of the British Royal Family, but she is 50th in line for the throne so she doesn't have many royal duties. Her mother is Princess Michael, one of the most controversial members of the Royal Family. She is the cousin who wore the racist blackamood brooch to meet Meghan Markle. She is rumored to have two black sheep named Venus and Serena and she once told a group of African Americans to "go back to the colonies."
