What differentiates love from other feelings is that it's more of a slow burn. You are content with getting to know every part of someone over a longer period of time.
When you're in love with someone, you don't care how long it takes to get to know this person inside and out – you're just happy to be with them. Lust, on the other hand, is usually a lot more passionate and physical. Rather than wanting to be with someone on an emotional level, you want to keep the fire burning bright through a physical connection.
In other words, the only thing you really care about when you're in lust with someone is keeping the desire you feel for this person alive. When you're in lust with a bad boy, you feel more like their lover than a partner. Falling in lust has the ability to turn into love, however lust itself doesn't last as long as love does.
