The Masked Singer Spoilers: Who is The Raven?

The Masked Singer spoilers! We're getting close to the next episode of The Masked Singer, a new celebrity talent competition on Fox. On this singing show, everyone performs with their faces hidden by elaborate masks. Well, elaborate costumes. The performers all look like wild sports mascots who can sing.

A panel of five judges, consisting of Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke all watch the performances and have to guess the identities of the singer. They’re working off performance styles and clues the each singer drops about their personality and career.

So far, five singers have been unmasked. Judges thought they were going to see Shaqille O’Neill when the Hippo’s mask came off, but it was Steeler’s receiver Antonio Brown instead. When it came time for the Pineapple to show his face, the popular guess was Jim Carrey. But Carrey’s ex Jenny McCarthy knew better: she figured out that it was Tommy Chong on stage.

For the Deer, at first, the judges had mixed guesses, until Robin noticed how the Deer laughed with his shoulders saying how it was very specific to Terry Bradshaw's laughing style — and he ended up guessing correctly. When it was the Poodle's turn to unmask itself, the judges were all way off guessing from Kathy Griffin to Jillian Michaels. But, long behold, they discovered that it was Margret Cho. And last week, Ken Jeong correctly guessed that the Unicorn was none other than Beverly Hills 90210 alum Tori Spelling.

We don’t know who will be revealed next but fans are already making guesses. Check out our guesses about the Rabbitthe Poodle, and the Alien!

So, who is the Raven on The Masked Singer?

1. Clues

The Raven drops cryptic clues about having spent her career listening to other people’s stories and having easily gotten an audience her whole life. She also alludes to a tragic loss that she’s is still grieving, although she says that performing as the raven is giving her a chance to find beauty in the darkness.

In episode 4, we learn that Raven's first performance was theraputic for her because it allowed her to have closer for her loved one. In her video package, we see images of seven bird cages and a small downtown with two highways.

She then goes on to tell us a story about a man who came to town in black and white with 1968 television screens in the background, crying near the Hudson River because she could not believe someone was able to see her talent. This man is suggested to be her lost loved one.

At the end of the performance, Ken, who has been in movies with Sherri Shepard, asked if they have done movies together. She responds with, "Only in my dreams."

2. Judge guesses

The judges all agree that the Raven is probably a talk show host and their guesses reflect that. Jenny McCarthy thinks it might be Sherri Shepherd while Ken Jeong brings up Star Jones or Sally Jessy Raphael.

With these recent clues, the judges are still certain that Raven is still a television host, with Robin believing it could be Sally Jessy Raphael, and Jenny is certain it could be Sherri Shepard.

3. Other guesses

Fans wonder if the name Raven is the big giveaway, suggesting it might be Raven Symone under the mask. Other internet theories have Queen Latifah singing as the Raven.

4. Best guess

The strongest possibility is former-talk show host Ricki Lake. Not only is she grieving the 2017 loss of her husband, she has spent a career listening to other stories on the set of her show. Not only that, she’s famous for her role in Hairspray, a movie set in Baltimore and created by Baltimore native John Waters.

The raven is synonymous with the Maryland City as it was the home of “The Raven” poet Edgar Allen Poe and now calls the Baltimore Ravens NFL team their own. Finally, the Raven drops the phrase “cry baby” in her clues, as possible allusion to the movie Cry Baby, in which Lake appeared.

Do you think the Raven is Ricki Lake?
