Who Is Natasha Archer? New Details About Kate Middleton's Stylist

While all the world has turned their attention to Meghan Markle — starting with rumors of dating Prince Harry, to announcing their engagement, to their royal wedding in May, and now an announcement of a little one on the way — let’s remember the OG royal bride: Kate Middleton.

We all know Kate as the Duchess of Cambridge and the mother of three future heirs to the throne, but what about her style? To be frank: Kate has got it going on!

Not only has she made the “best dressed” list numerous times but she’s always been known as a fashion and beauty icon. She wears clothing and accessories from designers all over the world, but none of this would be possible without Natasha Archer. Because everyone needs someone to make sure they look their best.

But just who is Natasha Archer? She’s none other than the Duchess’ personal stylist! Known as “Tash” by Kate and family, what do we know about the woman behind Kate’s fashionista ways? Here are five details about the royal stylist everyone should know.

1. She’s responsible for most of Kate’s looks.

As a Duchess, you need to be on your A-game all the time, especially during public appearances. And that’s where Archer comes in: creating looks and keeping Kate fashion-forward. Sometimes, that means completely altering an outfit, like she did with Kate’s designer dress during a 2016 trip to India.

According to the dress’ designer, Anita Dongre, “In India a lot of women would wear this [dress] with trousers and a stole. Her stylist has taken the stole and converted part of that into the belt and then chopped it off so it can be worn as a dress. She's amazing — it looks easy, breezy and so contemporary.”

2. But she began as her personal assistant.

Though she’s now her stylist, she started from the bottom as her assistant in 2007.

According to a source for Vanity Fair, “Initially, Kate was a reluctant fashion icon, but now she enjoys it. Tash helps source some of the clothes. She shops a lot for Kate online and calls in hundreds of dresses for Kate to try on. She has persuaded Kate to take some more risks. The hemlines are shorter and Kate’s really pushing the boat out in the fashion stakes.”

3. They are extremely close friends.

Who knew that the Duchess would become so tight with her stylist? It seems they are much closer than you’d think because Archer was apparently present for the birth of Kate’s first child, George. She was reported to be the first non-family member to visit Kate after she gave birth and even picked out the outfit she wore when she left. How’s that for friendship?

4. She’s married to the royal photographer!

And just like his wife, Chris Jackson goes where the royalty travels. He’s taken photos of the royal family, including the Queen, Harry, William, Meghan, and, of course, Kate.

He's captured photos that broke the internet, including Harry and Meghan's engagement announcement, Kate and William’s wedding photos, and even snapped a shot of the Queen and Prince Philip holding hands!

5. She’s not quitting, despite rumors.

Instead, she’s actually on maternity leave. Archer and Jackson welcomed their first child, son Theo, on December 19th. Though many have speculated that Archer quit her job, Kensington Palace immediately shut the rumors down and released a statement revealing that she’s on maternity leave.

The rumors were sparked when she was given a Royal Victorian Order, which is usually given when a staff member resigns. It’s reported she’ll return to work in about six weeks.
