There's a stigma to men and crying. But there are some men in touch with their softer side and they have no difficulty shedding a tear at all. Some men will cry at funerals or when they hear their favorite song.

Men have been known to cry over lost loves or for patriotic reasons. Men are just as much allowed to cry as women.

It can be a sensitive subject to talk about when you aren't sure what will make one guy well up and not another.

I cry at least every other day. Whether I’m watching a Pixar film or eating my favorite dish, I always find ways to let the tears roll out.

There is something so relieving about physically letting out everything that’s been pent up in my body. In fact there are many proven health benefits to crying. When a person cries it helps the body heal.

Tear ducts are cleansed and even stress is reduced in the moment of a good bawling session. The heart can let go of what it's been holding on to.

When you think of all the good a cry can bring, it's a wonder that society doesn't support the act of crying over all. It's shows the body as being strong and resilient instead of weak, and it's good thing to do.

So despite all the challenges I may face being female I’m grateful that I’m allowed to be “emotional.” Women are told that we’re too emotional.

Some zodiac signs, like Cancer, Pisces, and even Scorpio, all water horoscopes, are considered overly emotional too.

The reason why we can’t run a boardroom meeting is because, for some reason, we’re thought to just burst out crying over the wrong PowerPoint slide. Being emotional is okay. Crying is also not a bad thing.

Now hear me out: most men aren’t given the grace to be emotionally in tune with themselves.

Society teaches us that emotions show weakness. The epitome of man is to be tough and care for their partners. They can’t possibly do that if they’re crying.

The thing is we’ve all cried at one point. Some time in our lives an event so impactful has brought us to tears. Sometimes all it takes is a little investigating into our star selves to understand what makes men cry.

ARIES (March 21 - April 19)

An Aries man cries because of being disappointed by his loved ones. If he feels betrayal by those he would drop everything for, that would cause major emotional distress. He is fiercely loyal and the pain he feels can’t be quite put to words.

His competitive nature makes him seek first place in everything. Most likely he’ll also cry if he lets himself down too. For example, not getting that promotion he was so sure belonged to him might cause the water work. Everyone knows he’s sad because he takes action as soon as he can.

TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)

As a Taurus he’s mostly grounded and steady in all his convictions. While that’s true there are few things that can make a Taurus man cry. This includes feelings of insecurity. If he feels like he will lose you, the love of his life, that can cause him become scared and so he’ll use crying as an emotional outlet.

If there is something that can cause a sudden change in his life, that stress could impact a Taurus man. For example, if he suddenly loses his job that lack of financial security would really affect him.

GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)

The Gemini will cry if he feels like he’s about to be abandoned or if he’s already been left. The worst situation a Gemini could be in is if he’s isolated and left by his loved ones.

Also if he feels that he’s not getting his way, that could cause him to become emotionally distraught. The tricky thing though is that a Gemini man wants to try and have everything he possibly can. Satisfying this need is difficult. In turn, can easily cause him to stress.

CANCER (June 21 - July 22)

Most criticism can cause a Cancer man to tear up. They are their own biggest critic and take everything to heart. If not expressed in a well manner, a Cancer man will certainly feel the tears well up in his eyes.

Being vulnerable might also cause him to shed a few tears. He’s not used to opening up about his personal life. There’s a reason why he’s so guarded. However, once that seal is broken, and he starts to tell you his life story there’s guaranteed to be a few tears.

LEO (July 23 - August 22)

A Leo man will cry if he’s faced with a difficult truth. This could be the loss of a loved one or truly breaking things off with a partner he thought would last forever. Leo men want to be treated like kings. Kings don’t have to face reality because everything is grand and dandy for them.

However, the moment they are shown the power that comes with the truth, that’s when they break down.

VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)

A Virgo man will cry at the overwhelming analysis of his sadness. He doesn’t know how to process his own emotions. He has a million logical thoughts running through his mind. Except logic can’t make sense of emotions. They are easily so hard on themselves that their own thoughts will cause them to burst out to tears.

Think of it like a system overload. When that happens everything shuts down, or in a Virgo man’s case, he’ll probably shed some tears to process the information.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)

A Libra man will cry over feelings of violence and injustice. The world news is a prime example of a place where he’d feel emotionally drained. He cries because he feels the pain other’s do. He weeps over the lack of justice given to those who can’t afford to advocate for themselves. Libra’s are the most balanced when it comes to their emotions.

As easily as it is for them to cry, they also know when to reach out and ask for help.

SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)

You’ll know something is up with a Scorpio man when he cries then bounces to anger. Their hard shell makes them protected against the harsh world. Getting him to open up will cause an emotional stir in them. Talking about past traumas and life altering events will create a tearful Scorpio. He rarely opens up so when he does it’ll be an emotional experience.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)

A Sagittarius male will cry if he feels he’s being too tied down. Whether it be with his emotions or with too many things on his plate, his tears stem from the idea that he’s not free. His emotions weigh him down. Constantly carrying the burdens of himself and those around him will wear out the male Sagittarius. He will cry if he feels like no one can help or understand him.

CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)

A Capricorn male cries when he feels responsible for something that should’ve been handled easily. They are always in control and seem to know the answer for everything. That’s a lot of pressure to put on oneself. A male under this sign feels that he has to have everything under control.

He feels powerful when he knows order and that everything will be okay if nothing is out of the ordinary. However, that pressure is sure to make him crack. Once he does, crying is the only way he knows how to process his emotions.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)

Crying comes to the Aquarius male when the trust between him and the second party are broken. He’s a man of his word.

When other people take him for granted and use him for his intellect or other traits, it will hurt him. He only has good intentions for other people so when he finds someone has betrayed him, he will be heartbroken.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)

A Pisces male takes everything to heart. Any amount of criticism at him will be taken at full force. If he feels that it’s him against the world he will most certainly shut down. He cries because the world can get very daunting for him. He needs to constantly feel supported otherwise his emotions will get the best of him.
