He served as the Treasurer of Louisiana for 17 years, and before that, was on the staff for Governor Buddy Roemer. He lost in the election for Attorney General of Louisiana, and returned to practice law in a private firm.

What’s most notable about Kenedy is that he was once a Democrat but switched parties in 2007 while serving as treasurer.

The couple attends North Cross United Methodist Church in Madisonville, Louisiana, and it seems like religion and faith are a big part of their lives.

Rebecca has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida, and a J.D. from Tulane University.

3. She’s an attorney.

And she’s currently a member of the Louisiana State Bar. She was a partner of Cater and Willis, which specializes in general civil practice, trials, corporations insurance, banking, real estate, and negligence law. She also worked in the Chaffe McCall law firm.

4. They are a small family.

The couple has been married for over 25 years and have one child together, son James Preston.

5. Her son was the subject of a lawsuit.

In 2016, their then 21-year-old son was sued by his neighbors, Steven and Heidi Fisher, accused of throwing a party in the Fisher home while the family and his parents were away. The lawsuit alleged that there was alcohol consumption, damaged property, and sex in a child’s bedroom, and that he and his friends ransacked their home.
