Are Drew Barrymore And Justin Long Back Together?
The exes were spotted together in New York City. Are they rekindling the flame?
Once upon a time, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long were one of the cutest Hollywood couple anyone could imagine. The two met on the film He's Just Not That Into You and embarked on a three-year relationship.
Sine they split for good in 2010, they've each moved on. Barrymore got married and had two children before getting divorced in 2016. Long was most recently linked to Chvrches frontwoman Lauren Mayberry, who he had been with since 2016.
But this weekend, the pair was spotted together in New York City. Is this a new beginning for the couple? Are Drew Barrymore and Justin Long back together? Read on to find out.
1. He IS Just That Into You
The pair met filming He's Just Not That Into You in 2008. They reportedly started dating after filming wrapped and were frequently seen together in nightclubs.
2. Rocky Road
The couple may have been in love but they had some pretty rough patches in their relationship. At one point, Barrymore left Long and he was so distraught he refused to work on her directorial debut, Whip It. A source at the time said, "He couldn't stand working with her and not being with her. He's too upset," the source said. "She dumped him. She was hot and cold. One minute she was in love with him and the next she wanted to break up with him."
3. On Again
The pair got back together to film Going The Distance, a comedy about a couple trying to make a bi-coastal relationship work. At the time, Barrymore said " There’s a lot of honesty here. When we’re emotional in the movie, we’ve been there."
4. And Off Again
The movie wasn't enough for the couple to really go the distance and they called off their relationship for good in 2010. They did manage to do publicity for the film together, despite the romantic estrangement.
5. Moving On
Barrymore eventually went on to marry Will Kopelman and they have two daughters, 5½-year-old Olive and 4-year-old Frankie. The couple divorced in 2016. Since then, Barrymore confessed that she tired dating apps. During an appearance on Ellen, she said she tried an app and got a disappointing but hilarious response.

6. Frontwoman
Meanwhile, Justin Long was linked to Chvrches singer Lauren Mayberry. The pair had a romantic and philanthropic connection. The pair held a holiday variety show charity fundraiser at The Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. They also traveled together to Nicaragua to visit a women's shelter. They couple split up earlier this year.
7. Good friends
Insiders say that Barrymore and Long have been friends even after their breakup, something that's important to Barrymore. She has said of exes that, "Just because the ‘in love’ doesn’t work doesn’t mean the love goes away.”
8. Reunited
Now Long and Barrymore have been spotted together in New York City. A source told E! News, "They are both single and they are spending time together," but "that's all it is for now." But they started out as friends ten years ago, too, so maybe this will lead them back together.
