Ever since her split from Taylor Kinney back in 2016, we’ve all been hoping and wishing that Lady Gaga would find love again. After all, Mother Monster deserves the best for inspiring us! And it seems we might have our wish, because she has been linked to a hot stud since early 2017. How’s that for a comeback?
But who is Lady Gaga’s boyfriend? Can he handle the success she’s experienced in the last few years? Does he like strong women who can make a career based on talent alone? Here are 7 things to know about Christian Carino.
1. He’s a Hollywood agent.
He works for Creative Artists Agency, and his clients include Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Jennifer Lopez, and Christina Aguilera. There have even been reports that Carino represents Lady Gaga!
2. He’s much older than her.
Lady Gaga is 32 years old, while Carino is 49, making him 17 years older than her. But it seems like she doesn’t care too much about age; she deserves a mature man, after all.
3. He used to date Lauren Cohan.
You may remember Cohan as Maggie on The Walking Dead. Though the pair are no longer together, it’s a clear indication that he prefers younger women.
4. The two are engaged.
When Lady Gaga showed up to the 2017 Grammy’s last year, fans speculated that she had become engaged after rocking a huge ring.
Apparently, the couple became engaged last summer, but are in no rush to walk down the aisle. That’s because she suffers from fibromyalgia, a chronic disorder that causes muscle fatigue. In fact, it’s the reason she canceled the European leg of her Joanne tour last year.
5. He asked her father for permission.
How sweet is that? Because her father is a traditional and old-school man, it was only right for Carino to get his permission for her hand in marriage.
6. He's the first person she dated after her split from Kinney.
When Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney split in July 2016, the world cried for her lost romance. Though the two believe they are soulmates, it didn’t take her long to move on with her life. Christian Carino is a lucky man! And he must know it, too, because he popped the question less than a year after they began dating.
7. He can handle her fame, unlike her exes.
Lady Gaga blamed Kinney’s inability to handle her success, as well as their busy schedules, as the reason for their split. “My love life has just imploded. I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt. I sold 30 million and lost Luke. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It's like a turnover. This is the third time I've had my heart broken like this,” she said of her heartbreak.
But seeing as how Carino is used to the business obligations as a talent agent, he certainly understands what this lifestyle entails. And good for her, because she deserves a man who can handle it.
