Fans have been patiently waiting for Selena Gomez’s “Back to You” video since she first dropped the song along with Netflix’s release of season two of 13 Reasons Why.
Of course, her “Back to You” lyrics had everyone wondering whether or not she was talking about Justin Bieber (they’re, like, officially this generation’s Britney & Justin, right?). Here’s a little snippet:
Thought that I could chase you with a cold evening
Let a couple years water down how I'm feeling about you
We’ve all followed Gomez and Bieber’s on-and-off relationship saga and how they recently rekindled their romance after breaking up in 2016, so these lyrics could definitely point to that.
But wait, there’s more.
I wanna hold you when I’m not supposed to
When I'm lying close to someone else
You're stuck in my head and I can't get you out of it
Remember that time Gomez broke up with The Weeknd and then almost immediately started hanging out with Bieber again? Yeah, me too.
If lyrics like those aren’t convincing enough, Gomez then had to go and cast an actor who suspiciously looks a whole lot like her superstar ex, Bieber. She first teased the “Back to You” video a few days before finally releasing it in its entirety, and fans couldn’t help but notice his striking resemblance to the Biebs.
The most common question from fans in Gomez’s comments teasing the video is by far, “who is that guy?”
Some fans even had some pretty educated guesses, including actor Cody Simpson who shares the same blonde hair and facial structure of the “Back to You” actor. Jace Norman was another popular guess. However, both are incorrect.
So who is the mystery Justin Bieber lookalike in the “Back to You” video? Model Andrey Kupchenko is the man you’re looking for.

Kupchenko has been low-key teasing Gomez’s video as well, posting screenshots of scenes to his Instagram account. Once the video dropped, Kupchenko posted a video to Instagram of him watching the video and thanked Gomez, calling it one of the biggest days of his life.
2. He’s a model
With looks like his, no surprise there! Kupchenko is currently repped by Two Management in Los Angeles. His portfolio shows he’s worked for big fashion houses like Prada and even earned a couple magazine shoots. He thanked his agency for helping land him a part in the “Back to You” video.
3. He’s Russian

If the angular face, blond hair and blue eyes, and last name didn’t give it away, his Russian Instagram captions will! However, it looks like he now calls the United States his home. “From the moment I was in America, I erased such concepts as "winter, spring, summer, autumn" because the weather is good all year round,” he wrote in a recent Instagram post. “In LA, according to statistics, 320 days of sunshine a year.” Thanks, Google translate!
