I am going to just come right out and say it: I'm not totally sure if I believe in love. Not in the way some of the other zodiac signs believe in it.
Maybe it's because I'm an Aquarius, or maybe it's just me, but I don't completely believe that love has to be gooey and sappy all the time. That's just how I feel.
Sure, I believe that love for friends and family exists, but I don't know how true romantic love is. Like soulmates, for instance. Part of me wants to believe that everyone has a astrological soulmate. But if you asked me if it was a realistic assumption to assume that there's only one person out there for everyone?
I would probably have to tell you that no, I don't believe that. Of course, being the Aquarius that I am, I also believe in things outside of this world.
So, just like I haven't ever seen an alien before (yet), I know that there has to be more than exists beyond this world.
And just because I haven't seen a love between two people that transcends everything else I believe in doesn't mean love doesn't exist or that it's not worth believing in.
In fact, I like surrounding myself with people who think that true love – like, fairytale love that only comes once in a lifetime – exists and lasts forever.
Why? Because it makes me see the world differently. My sister is a Pisces and she sometimes tells me that she can't wait to find the love of her life and start a family.
While I don't share these life goals, I get it. She wants to find someone who makes her heart beat fast, makes her blush, and maybe even turns her into the heart eyes emoji – always smiling and happy in love.
And if anyone can teach me to see potential in the ordinary every day, it's someone who is so positive that they will find love one day.
Because those are the kinds of people who are optimistic about pretty much everything, including something that might happen in the near future or in the very far away future.
And that positivity always makes me want to try harder in life to find my own happiness, even if it's not necessarily love that I'm looking for.
Because I definitely believe in loving yourself, but there are parts of me that can't help but be skeptical about other kinds of love.

PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces doesn't just believe in love – he believes in true love. And he doesn't care how he sounds when he talks about it, any conversation about love has his eyes shining and his heart racing. Pisces believes in all kinds of love: love at first sight, long lost love, soulmates, you name it.
Pisces believes in love because he's seen it before, many times. He sees love in the way someone holds the door for someone else, in the way people share their last French fry, and even in the way someone texts another person. It would take a lot of convincing to get him to believe otherwise.
TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Taurus is a big believer in love because he always tries to surround himself with people who emulate true, pure love. There is a good chance that he grew up in a family where love was prominent – whether that was romantic love between his parents or familial love between siblings.
Now that he's all grown up, he believes that he can share love with people he cares about most because he has seen firsthand just how special love can be. This is why he always makes sure to put the people he loves first and is very sensual and attentive in the bedroom.
CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancer has been dreaming of finding his own love since he was young. He wants someone he can share his life with, as well as a family he can teach the importance of sharing love to. Cancer is special because he knows how to inject a little bit of love into everything he does in life.
For Cancer, love isn't a once-in-a-lifetime thing. He knows that if he loses love in one person, there's always an opportunity to find it somewhere else. He doesn't like to limit himself in love because he doesn't think that is what a true believer would do. Cancer is the kind of person to inspire others with how much love he has in his heart.
ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries is one of those zodiac signs that believes in love, but not always the soft, gentle love other zodiac signs are known for. Aries isn't always considered romantic in the conventional sense, but with his penchant for keeping things fiery and passionate in the bedroom, he could still be considered romantic in a kinkier sense.
Aries definitely believes in love, but the kind of love he's looking for (dynamic, thrilling, and honest) isn't always easy to find. Luckily for him, he's a very positive person who believes that if he doesn't find love at first, he can try again and eventually it'll come to him.
SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpio is another one of those zodiac signs that believes in a fiery, passionate love. Of course, just because he's open to love in a general sense doesn't mean it's always easy for him to open up to someone else and actually receive this love he's looking for.
Scorpio hates being the pessimist, but he's definitely a realist. He knows that love exists, but he always keeps his heart under lock and key. He wants to make sure that the person he does fall in love with will be around forever, rather than just until they get what they want from him. He's a cautious believer in love.
LEO (July 23 - August 22)
Leo is a believer of love, but not the sappy, "can't live without you" kind of love. He is great on his own and he doesn't necessarily need someone else in his life, but he would definitely like someone to love if given the chance.
Leo is a very independent person, so he knows the value of self-love. And being such a big advocate of self-love, Leo knows just how to translate that love for himself into love for someone else. He wants that big love everyone talks about, but he wants a mature, lasting love – not something naive and shallow.

LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libra believes in love, but he needs to work on loving himself a little bit more before he can give himself completely to someone else. Since he loves treating himself and indulging in the finer things in life, he knows what it feels like to put himself first when he's alone. But when it comes to relationships, Libra tends to forget that he has needs just like his partner does.
Libra believes in a fairytale love that only comes from storybooks. And while he will readily admit that his expectations for true love might be a little out of reach, he needs to remind himself that just because fairytale love is out of the question doesn't mean ALL love is. When he learns how to believe in a realistic love, he'll find exactly what he's looking for.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
Sagittarius believes in reality... to an extent. He might know the meaning of free love, but intense, committed love? Not so much. It's not so much that he thinks it's a myth, but rather he thinks it unrealistic to put all of your eggs in one basket.
Sagittarius would much rather love himself and the life he has than worry about getting his heart broken over one person. Since he needs his freedom to survive, it makes sense as to why he prefers to be the lone ranger. He values making friendships last more than romantic relationships because that's just what makes him more comfortable.
CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorn wants to believe in love, he really does. But he's got a lot of plans for his future and falling in love doesn't happen until he's where he wants to be in his professional life and has really honed his social life.
Capricorn would love to start a family one day, but he also knows that a thrilling, exciting romance only happens in the books and movies. When he feels completely ready to find his own love, he will work hard at that too. But until then, he has to be realistic (and something pessimistic) about how life and love working out.
VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Virgo is another one of those zodiac signs that want to believe in love, but the pull of the ever-realist makes him remember how life works and that love isn't something that just happens without work.
Virgo would actually much rather be single than constantly looking for love if you were to ask him. He has a loving family and great friends that looking for something that may or may not exist is just too much effort for himself. He may take his words back one day, but until then, he much prefers to live in reality and put his efforts towards something that makes more sense to him.
GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
Gemini likes keeping things casual much more than he likes making a commitment. Part of it is because he has a hard time keeping his attention on one person at a time and another part of it is because he tends to get hot and cold about whoever he is dating at the moment.
Gemini doesn't believe in love because he feels like it's just an excuse for people to do crazy things and blame it on true love. He would much rather have fun with a lot of different partners than spend his entire life with only one. He's not adverse to wild, free love, just committed love.
AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
Aquarius is the most anti-love zodiac sign you will ever meet. It's not that he would rather be grumpy and lonely all the time, but rather he has his own idea of what love is – and it's not what everyone else thinks it is. Aquarius believes in reality and making your own way in life.
He doesn't see the point in falling head over heels for someone and honestly, he thinks there's probably some kind of conspiracy theory attached to all of this love crap. He is ever the realist and he thinks that if you want to fall in love, fall in love with yourself, your work, or life – no need to throw yourself into something that might be a myth or might be real for nothing.
