Who Is Elon Musk's Girlfriend? Everything You Need To Know About Grimes — And Her Adorable Baby Bump!

It seems like Elon Musk is off the market, and will also be a father... again. The CEO of Tesla's relationship history reads a lot like that of a young adult romance novel.

He married his first wife, Justine Wilson, in 2000, and they stayed together until separating in 2008. They share five sons together, which they had through in vitro fertilization after their first son died of sudden infant death syndrome. Their twin boys were born in 2004, and then they had triplets two years later.

Soon after their divorce, Musk began his on-and-off relationship with English actress Talulah Riley. They married in 2010, got divorced in 2012 and then married again in 2013. They eventually split for good in 2016.

Shortly after his second divorce in 2016, he began dating actress Amber Heard, until a year later when they split up due to conflicting schedules.

So, who is Elon Musk's current girlfriend? She may sound familiar, because Musk's girlfriend is the singer, Grimes.

Musk first stepped out with Grimes at the 2018 Met Gala in May 2018. Though this was their first official outing as a couple, rumors about the two secretly being together had already been circling around the Twitter-sphere.

It all started when Musk, 48, praised the now-31-year-old's music on Twitter, saying, “Likewise... was just listening to Go Flex & Psycho on @Grimezsz playlist." “Glad ur finally listening to cyberpunk speedwae hahaha,” Grimes replied, whose full name is Claire Elise Boucher.

In April 2018, a fan tweeted out to Musk "just ask her out already," and he responded with a simple, and very telling winky face.

A source claimed that Grimes and Musk had been dating for about a month. Apparently, they met online after she made a joke three years ago about robots on Twitter that he himself had planned to make.

"Elon was researching the idea of joking about Rococo Basilisk, and when he saw Grimes had already joked about it, he reached out to her,” said the insider. “Grimes said this was the first time in three years that anyone understood the joke. They were both poking fun at AI.”

Their online banter continued up until the Met Gala when Musk tweeted the phrase, "Rococo basilisk," and then followed it with a link to the Wikipedia page, hinting he would be taking Grimes as his date.

Who is Grimes?

The Canadian musician rose to fame in 2012 with her third studio album "Visions." Around the same time she stepped out with Musk, she also had some unknown drama go down with her label, 4AD.

"There’s some srsly f–ked up and crazy s–t going behind the scenes in my career,” she wrote in a now-deleted Instagram post. “I just took a month off, a lot of insane s–t went down and I’m reorienting my life. I have a deep well of s–t this time, like sooo many songs so after my album I’ll be able to consistently release new music.”

Though they stepped out together, neither had initially commented on their relationship. And shortly after the Met Gala, they raised eyebrows after unfollowing each other on social media. However, they soon got back together.

In January 2020, Grimes shocked fans by posting a photo to Instagram that showed that she was pregnant.

However, the snap had no caption, so fans weren't totally sure whether or not it was true. Musk himself responded to the post with his own mysterious comment, writing, “x is y.”

Grimes then posted another photo of a fetus photoshopped onto her stomach, but the image was removed.

However, later in the month, Grimes officially announced that she was pregnant on Instagram. In the caption, the musician asked her followers what it was like to have to deal with working and having a baby, and revealed that she was having a rough pregnancy so far.

In a recent interview, Grimes opened up about Musk and her decision to have a baby with him. She said, “No one believes me about this. But I just did not understand what I was getting into at all. Not that I’m mad about it. I just didn’t think it would be a thing. The s*** that’s happened with my boyfriend this year has overwritten so much of my life’s work.”

She also revealed that one of her new songs, “So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth,” is about her pregnancy.

She added, “It’s about getting pregnant. The sort of tragedy of agreeing to it, even though it’s this great thing. For a girl, it’s sacrificing your body and your freedom. It’s a pretty crazy sacrifice and only half of the population has to do it.

It was really profound to me when I decided I was going to do it, to actually go through the act of like, y’know, unprotected sex. I’m just like, I have sacrificed my power in this moment. I have, like, capitulated, And I have spent my whole life avoiding that situation. I have never capitulated to anything, so it was just a profound commitment.”

She went on to say, “I do actually just really love my boyfriend. So I was like, ‘You know, sure.’ He’s just very good at talking me out of my bulls***. I’ve learned a lot about controlling my state of mind.”

Here's hoping the couple is in it for the long run!
