unsplash If you think about the top three things most humans are scared of what would you say they are? Well, the top two you probably can guess because we hear just about every time someone brings up the topic of fear. The answer is public speaking, then death.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the third thing about breakups is dealing with rejection. When we’re kids we do the wildest, rudest, most outlandish things (that most of us wouldn’t do in front of our grandparents) in order to show off for friends; all for what? to gain acceptance and not rejection.
Let’s be honest, rejection is a scary thing, which is why as kids we go to greater lengths to avoid it because we don’t have the courage yet to march to the beat of our own drum.
All of this rejection talk though probably has you thinking, what’s an example of rejection that actually terrorizes us, which comes to mind first.
Right away I thought of the words, “We need to talk.” It’s something that none of us ever want to hear in person or see-through text, but it’s also something that most of us will at some point in our adult lives.
As most of us know this is pretty much unanimously is accepted as the universal language for “we’re breaking up.”
With that being said, some of us will be on the other side of this equation at times and have to be the one doing the breaking up. This has never been, and never will be easy.
However there are better ways to do this than others. In particular, based off of your zodiac sign. Would you like to know the best way to let them down easy to avoid getting cussed out or slapped in public? Here we go, using astrology.
1. ARIES (March 21 - April 19)
Aries are the type who loves to be the first to do everything. Therefore if you’re the first to come to them proposing the breakup, it will eat away at them. They may try to make up with you as a result just so they can have the opportunity to come to you first.
Therefore to save yourself some time, the best way to break up with an Aries is to become everything that they can’t stand: lazy, extra cautious and confused. Therefore the ball’s in their court and they’ll come to you for the breakup. If you like doing things first too, you may have to swallow your pride for this one.
2. TAURUS (April 20 - May 20)
Since those born under the Taurus sign prefer stability and are extremely set in their ways, the best way to break it off with them is to mess with the things that they rely on. Now before you go doing this, I’m not saying to define yourself as the “thing” and go cheat on them.
However, you can rearrange things around your apartment/house, refuse to eat at the same restaurants and maybe force your partner to try something new every time you’re with them. In other words be as annoyingly spontaneous as possible, and eventually, your Taurus will reach their boiling point, and you can exit stage right at this point.
3. GEMINI (May 21 - June 20)
A Gemini’s forte is communication. Therefore any disagreement you have can (and most likely will) only be a discussion away from being solved. If you want to end the relationship and prevent it from being salvaged you have to cut out the back and forth.
Don’t get sucked into communicating. You just have to up and leave, or ghost them, that’s an option too. However, you should know that this opens up the possibility of your belongings being thrown out on the street. Needless to say, most people don’t take kindly to being ghosted.
4. CANCER (June 21 - July 22)
Cancers are the clingiest star sign of the zodiac in astrology. Once you’re in a relationship with them, they perceive you as all the way in. This means that even if you break up, they’re the type that will still try and hang around you, and call to check up on various family members of yours from time to time. None of us like this, but this is how they are. Therefore hold your laugh in, but you may want to consider relocating to another state and changing your number.
5. LEO (July 23 - August 22)
To break up with a Leo you just have to tell them you’re not that into them. I know it’s cliché but it works best because it will make them feel inadequate to be seen as not the best lover you’ve ever had. Because of their reluctance to “hold that L” so to speak, they may have their friends keep an eye on you to see if there’s hope for you two in the future. Don’t be freaked out, remember they won’t want to risk their dignity.
6. VIRGO (August 23 - September 22)
Two important things to know about Virgos are that they perfectionists and nurturers so they will try a make their significant other happy at all times. With that being said, if you are going to break it off with them, it’s best to stop showing so much appreciation for them.
This may sound like a sucky thing to do, but they take pride in feeling useful to their partner. So making them feel underappreciated will be the smoothest way to break it off with them. If you consistently tell them you don’t need their help, they’ll most likely see no point in staying in the relationship and move on.
7. LIBRA (September 23 - October 22)
Libras consider fairness to be a big deal within a relationship. Therefore they want everything to pretty much be split down the middle and give and take. Therefore if you want to break it off with them lay back and do nothing. The laziness will drive them crazy. The less you seem to care, the easier it will be for them to do all the work in breaking it off.
8. SCORPIO (October 23 - November 21)
Scorpios are a mysterious sign and therefore won’t want to feel like they’re tied down to any one person (for the most part). With that being said, just tell them “I love you” to make her break it off with you. You can also call her your girlfriend pretty frequently, that may do the trick.
9. SAGITTARIUS (November 22 - December 21)
A Sagittarius won’t feel weighed down by anyone, especially a partner that they’re in love with. They kind of view love like a sport, so the best way to break it off is to say that you can’t keep up with her. You can do this figuratively or literally (in the sack). 10. CAPRICORN (December 22 - January 19)
Capricorns are known for being obsessed with status and power. Therefore anything that threatens their good reputation must be defeated ASAP in the eyes of a Capricorn.
With that being said, do something that makes them look bad (in moderation). Start an argument in public, show your lack of etiquette at their corporate dinner party, be flirty with her sister at a family function etc. Things like that will for sure present you to them as a liability that’s not worth it.
11. AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18)
As the most independent sign there is, an Aquarius won’t view you want to break it off with them at the end of the world. Truth be told, an Aquarius is known for not being wired for commitment anyway.
One other thing about an Aquarius is that they can be paranoid at times. With that being said, if you want to break it off with her, do something that she will most likely interpret as you trying to control her day. Do this a few times and you can consider the relationship just as good as over.
12. PISCES (February 19 - March 20)
Pisces are super sensitive people, and also you know how most people reminisce about their childhood days and say they wish they could remain a kid forever? Well, a Pisces is the embodiment of that. Adulting isn’t their forte, and neither is telling a loved one they can’t help them out with something. In a nutshell, they prefer to avoid their responsibilities just for their own comfortableness.
Therefore if you want to break it off with her, constantly remind her of her responsibilities and she’ll eventually reach her boiling point and leave you in a heartbeat.
