But who is James Corden's wife? Behind every great man is a woman who makes him shine bright — and that woman is Julia Carey. But she is much more than just Corden’s wife. And these details about her life prove just how wonderful she is as a person, as well as her husband’s number one fan.
1. She was previously an actress.
Carey was an English actress, acting in TV series such as A Bunch of Fives, Enemy at the Door, Within These Walls and Wings. She now works as a television producer, as well as a charity worker.
2. A mutual friend introduced them.
The story of how James and Julia met is actually very sweet! After splitting with his ex-girlfriend, actress Sheridan Smith in 2009, a mutual friend of both Carey and Corden introduced them. Dominic Cooper, a British actor you may know as the title character in Preacher, helped his buddy through his heartache by bringing Carey into his life.

Cooper and Corden shared a flat in London back in the early 2000s while starring together in the play The History Boys. Cooper had known Carey for many years, and playing matchmaker, set the two up. Corden and Carey started dating soon after, and the rest, they say, is history!
3. Their wedding was extravagant.
After dating for 3 years, the two tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony, costing £250,000. Carey’s wedding dress cost about £8,000 and was designed by Monique Lhuillier.
The wedding took place at the Babington House in Somerset, a 32-bedroom private members’ club and hotel, and was an entire three-day celebration!
Of course, the ceremony was star-studded, with guests including Jimmy Carr, Michael McIntyre, Lara Stone, Matt Smith and Natalie Imbruglia, with performances by Snow Patrol’s Gary Lightbody, and Rizzle Kicks.
4. She has three kids with Corden.
The couple welcomed son Max in March 2011, daughter Carey in October 2014, and daughter Charlotte in December 2017. You may remember that Harry Styles filled in for Corden last minute because his wife had gone into labor early! Apparently, Styles only had two hours notice. Talk about impressive ad-libbing.

5. Corden credits his wife for his successful career.
After winning a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play for his role in One Man, Two Guvnors back in 2012, Corden thanked Carey in his acceptance speech.
“My girlfriend Julia gave birth to our son five days before we started rehearsals. She’s my baby mama and I can’t wait to marry her. Seriously, I would not be holding this if it wasn’t for her. She made me say ‘us’ instead of ‘I’ and ‘we’ instead of ‘me’ and I love her. Thank you very much.”
Again in 2016, he praised his wife for agreeing to move to the United States after landing a job as host of The Late Late Show.
“All credit to my wife, who agreed to move when our daughter was five weeks old and our son was three. If you need to sum up Julia Carey in three words, ‘Corden’s secret weapon’ is one good option.”
6. The two used to share a mansion in Malibu.
The couple and their then-two children relocated to Malibu and moved into a £19 million mansion on the beach. The home had six bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a gym, and a chef.
7. But since then, they've moved to a mansion in LA.
The home cost £7 million and has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, a spa, gym, library, swimming pool, fire pit, and built-in barbeque. You could say this is a “downgrade” from their previous home in Malibu. But their new neighborhood is popular among A-listers, with neighbors including Cindy Crawford and Harrison Ford. Fancy!
