Whether you’re just starting a new job or you’ve been at your current job for months (or years), you might start to feel a little less motivated than you were when you first started.
Rush hour traffic every day, plus paying for parking and dealing with all kinds of coworkers can be draining, which in turn can make it harder and harder for you to want to get up every morning and head to work with a smile on your face.
I know that when I start to feel less motivated about my job, my work suffers. Even if I put in a lot of time on a project, if my heart isn’t into it, I’m just not happy with what I get done.
But maybe your motivation is lagging because of another source. Perhaps you can seem to please your boss or one of your coworkers keeps trying to one-up you on everything.
Feeling like you don’t matter or don’t contribute to the team can really take a toll on your work and your self-esteem.
It’s times like these when I have to remind myself that there was a reason my boss hired me in the first place, and just like everyone else, I belong here.
You don’t have to be the most aggressive or outgoing person on your team, but showing your boss that you consistently make an effort in your work is what will get you far.
That said, being vocal about wanting constructive criticism or asking for extra work will definitely get you some extra brownie points.
But for those times when you would rather just call in sick or your usually happy demeanor has turned into keeping your head down, it is important to boost your confidence with some motivational words.
Repeating positive mantras every morning will do wonders for you, helping you find that motivation again.
So, keep reading for some motivational quotes to help get you started and back on track for being the best colleague your boss (and team) could ask for.
