Being emotionally distant can be detrimental and unhealthy to most of your relationships. When you’re distant, you might seem guarded and you take a while to let people in (if you ever do). You probably don’t really tell others what you’re feeling either, and you're pretty uncomfortable when it comes to talking about how you feel.
A lot of people don’t feel comfortable expressing themselves in dating because we’re all told that’s not the “chill” thing to do. We’re told that speaking honestly about our feelings and desires is "needy", and that caring too much makes you come on too strongly.

Some people also aren’t comfortable with being emotionally vulnerable because they are afraid of rejection, so they put up walls.
And then there are some people who are satisfied with being independent without many close emotional bonds. These people are dismissive of emotional intimacy.
It’s important to recognize when someone’s emotional distance is affecting a relationship, because intimacy and closeness are important elements in healthy relationships. So if you need some help, you can look to stars.

Capricorns are known for being, well, cold. A Capricorn woman is very pessimistic, and she’s usually dismissive of deep emotional relationships. She enjoys being self-sufficient, and she’s very independent.
Relationships are a lot of work, and she prefers to spend her time focusing on other things.
When someone is pursuing a relationship with her, she will seem very distant and difficult to get to know. She’ll easily shoot down the other person’s efforts to get to know her better.
