They say that when a man shares his number of sexual partners, you should cut his number in half. For women, you should double their number. Apparently, men tend to over-embellish so they seem more sexually experienced. Women, on the other hand, shrink their number so they’re not considered “promiscuous.”

The "P-word" is one that many Latinas dread. But, how many sex partners is one too many? How many are just right?

Illicit Encounters surveyed more than 1,000 people, asking them how many lovers they'd prefer a new partner to have under their belt. Thirty-eight percent of women and 37 percent of men said the ideal number was between eight and 12 partners. The most popular answer was 10 partners.

According to this poll, having more than 10 sexual partners is a no-no. You’ll be labeled loose, chicas! If you have less than 10 sexual partners, you’re an inexperienced prude. And guess what else? Men are more cautious of women whose number is higher than 10. Ay, that dreaded double standard!
