Celebrity Sex: Does Joseph Gordon-Levitt Strip Down In 'Don Jon?'

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a man of many talents, and in Don Jon, he's the total package: He wrote, directed and starred in the flick. But does he show off his own, er, total package?

Nope! But he explained that there's a good reason for it, despite Don Jon being a movie about a guy who gets laid a whole lot and is addicted to porn.

The star told press, "It would just be distracting. This is not a movie of brutal realism; it's a comedy and it's a story. It's sort of a parable, so there would really be no reason to have any nudity."

However, that doesn't mean there's no nudity at all—just no nude Joseph Gordon-Levitt (or Scarlett Johansson, for that matter). You can likely catch a glimpse of some T&A (but no, va-jay-jays) in the porn snippets that Don Jon can't stop watching.

"It actually feels like you're seeing more than you are, and we spent a lot of time carefully cropping the clips so technically you're not seeing anything you wouldn't see in a rated-R movie," Gordon-Levitt explained at Sundance when the skin flick first debuted. "We decided to take out all the penises and vaginas, and that's what we have here."

Another big part of why there's no real nudity? Well, it'd be a lot harder for a lot of people to actually see the movie, because it'd get a box office-dooming NC-17 rating. "I always thought of it as an R-rated movie ...  but we'll see what the MPAA makes of it. Me personally? I think it deserves an R, as it is now. We'll see, but I absolutely am in no way shape or form going to put this film out as anything other than an R."

On the bright side? We'll still see plenty of shots of Gordon-Levitt's newly buff bod in all of its shirt-free glory when Don Jon hits theaters on Sept. 27. Ladies, grab a ticket and get in line!
