Good news for pleasure-seeking, Christian-Grey-loving ladies everywhere: No need to make a separate trip to an adult store or novelty shop to get your latest vibrator. Just check your local drug store.

The revelation that vibrators are becoming ubiquitous (and, ultimately, even less taboo) has been linked, thanks to a recent article in USA Today, to every woman's favorite new guilty pleasure — Fifty Shades of Grey. Add to that the ease of finding a vibrator on the drug store shelf and BOOM, we've got a recipe for climax. Yes, apparently erotica that began as fan fiction really gets us gals itching to pay attention to our lady parts. In fact, since the launch of the novel, Trojan has sold more than 300,000 vibrators at food and drug retailers nationwide.

These results mean that sex and pleasure are obviously on American's minds. According to the USA Today findings, there has been a 30-percent growth in the sex toy industry over the past two years. And an article in the New York Times details how the appearance of vibrators "mere steps from the Bengay and Dr. Scholl's" is helping carry the conversation about the popularity of the toys. And people aren't just talking about them; they're buying them, too — Durex saw a 60-percent rise in vibrator sales in the beginning of 2011, compared with the same period in 2010.

We can't help but get excited that women are embracing their sexual power, even if it's because of a book. We've reported before that women who believe in the power of their vibrators have more success with them, and part of believing is not feeling ashamed of owning one. Sex and relationship expert Dr. Laura Berman even told the Times, "When they [women] can embrace their self-stimulation, they can take ownership of their sexuality."

How about that? Some of the writing in Fifty Shades of Grey may have you saying "Dios mio!" (If you've read it, you'll understand) but apparently, it's not stopping females everywhere from taking their sexual satisfaction into their own hands.
