People With Exceptionally Strong Charisma Usually Say 9 Phrases In Casual Conversation
carlesmiro | Shutterstock Charisma is one of those things that’s hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. It's especially evident when someone uses their charisma in conversation.
People with strong charisma draw others to them like a magnet. That extra-special something is clear to see in every part of their personality, including the way they speak.
Exceptionally charismatic people often say these phrases when casually chatting:
1. ‘I like the way you think’

This is a phrase we don’t really hear all that often, but charismatic people use it all the time. It’s a unique compliment that points out something many people overlook, making the giver seem like someone worth getting to know.
Although we all know how good it feels to get a compliment, everyone tends to underestimate the effect of the nice things they say. People with charisma know this is an important social skill that gets others’ attention, so they aren’t afraid to use it frequently.
2. ‘You’re always so much fun’
People who have a lot of charisma make others want to be around them. One of the biggest ways they do that is by showing that they want to be around them, too. Telling someone they’re fun sends the message that time spent with them is never wasted.
It’s hard to imagine someone not wanting to hear kind words, but there are a lot of compliments that feel more hurtful than helpful. Between their infectious delivery and ability to tailor what they’re saying to each person, charismatic people never put others in that awkward situation.
3. ‘I love that for you’
We live in a super competitive world where we’re all taught to think that other people’s success takes away from our own. This makes most of us feel more jealous than we’d like to admit.
When someone is super charismatic, they look at things differently. They may still feel the pang of jealousy, but they don’t judge themselves for feeling that way, and they also don’t let it get in the way of truly being happy for the other person. They’re cheerleaders who can lift people up without making it all about themselves.
4. ‘You’re hilarious’
Laughter is really powerful, and we all feel grateful when we’re talking to someone who has a good sense of humor. There are a lot of people who are so much funnier than they realize. Because they don’t think of themselves that way, they hold back.
Talking to someone with charisma can be a huge gift in that situation. They build people’s confidence and help them see that life doesn’t need to be taken so seriously. Just by pointing out how funny they think someone is, they can cause a ripple effect that will make so many others smile, too.
5. ‘I knew we would get along’

A lot of people would probably avoid using this phrase because it feels a little forward when you don’t know someone well, but charismatic people don’t have a problem with it. Part of what makes them so likable is the way they make others feel seen, even when they don’t know them well.
Social interactions are just as beneficial when they involve someone you aren’t as familiar with. It’s actually really thoughtful for someone to say they enjoy another person’s company, whether they’re forming a deep bond or not.
6. ‘You just get it’
When someone feels understood, it strengthens their relationship with the person they are talking to and their relationship with themselves. There aren’t many people who take the time to really connect with someone in that way, though.
Charismatic people are all about boosting people’s confidence. They go out of their way to make others feel understood in the most natural way possible. That usually means not making a big deal about it while still pointing out how they’re on the same page.
7. ‘You have the best energy’
There’s nothing worse than being around someone who drains your energy instead of adding to it. Positive energy plays a vital role in helping people deal with stress, whether it’s their own energy or someone else’s.
It’s no surprise that people with charisma love to be around people who match their energy instead of people who drag them down. And, by mentioning how great someone’s energy is, they’re also practicing positive energy themselves. It’s like a cycle of giving.
8. ‘I want to hear more’
It feels awful to be telling someone a story that you’re genuinely excited about just to realize that they couldn’t care less. There’s no way to get around the embarrassment you feel as you try to get to the point as quickly as possible so you can change the subject.
This doesn’t happen when someone with charisma is a part of the conversation. They show how much they care about the other person by listening closely and asking good follow-up questions. They put them at ease by showing actual interest in the things that are important to them instead of making every conversation self-serving.

It’s pretty rare to find someone who gets you on such a deep level that they can predict what you’ll say next or even finish your sentences. Being understood in this way improves people’s well-being, but you don’t see it every day.
Charismatic people aren’t mind-readers, but they do have a way of making people feel seen. They’ll give the feeling that they’ve been in the head of the person they’re talking to because they have the special ability to pick up on things others miss to make people feel good about themselves.
