Nick Pendergrast is a former televison personality. He appeared in the media for a while when he agreed to marry Sonia Granados after never speaking to her or laying eyes on her. 1. What is Married at First Sight?

Married At First Sight is a TV series that is centered around the idea that two people who have never met before, see each other for the first time when they say "I Do" at their WEDDING! A panel of experts do their best to go through profiles submitted by contestants to find two people they think would make a good fit for the show. There are four couples per season, and we follow them from their wedding day to their honeymoon to their nesting stage all the way to the day to day monotony of married life. At the end of the series the couples get to decide to either stay together or break up.

2. Nick Pendergrast on Married at First Sight

Pendergrast was paired with Sonia Granados during his stint on the 4th season. They married on the first episode and tried to make it work. They had many differences though, as Sonia was scared of dogs and Pendergast had a dog he loved. They had a big blow out on the show after Nick announced he was no longer attracted to Sonia. 3. Divorce and fatherhood... in that order

Pendergrast and Granados had been working on their marriage for awhile but it didn't seem to be working. During the divorce proceedings, Pendergrast met Heather Yerrid. They fell in love. Two months after his divorce was final the two announced that Heather was pregnant. They ended up having twins and for a while they couldn't be happier.

4. The accident

Pendergrast revealed in a lengthy Instagram post in early July that he was in a severe accident at work. He said he was found, submerged in water for hours. He suffered multiple pelvic and sacral fractures, hypothermia and several other injuries. The accident took place on January 22 of this year, but it took him nearly six months to garner the courage and strength to share his story. The injuries are not fatal, but the side effects are likely permanent. Quoting from his Instagram post he said, "It's been 6 and a half months and I finally feel like I've gotten a straight answer about what the future may hold," and "The nerve damage caused by the blunt trauma has left me partially paralyzed." 5. He has the unwavering support of his ex-wife

Sonia Granados commented on his Instagram post saying, "Nick, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Please know that I have been praying for you and your babies for months. I pray that you find peace. I pray that you know you aren't alone and that there are so many people who love and value you. I hope that you find a community here that send you a lot of love and prayers. I know you will."It is nice to know that with tragedy comes forgiveness.

6. New territory 

Nick said that before he was injured, he had never met anyone who was paralyzed or in a wheelchair. He has no experience with anything like this. He is also asking for help from the community, asking for people who may have similar stories or experiences to come forward and share their stories. He said on his Instagram: "If anyone has experienced this and has a similar story, where they were told they will never walk again and did, I would love to hear from you. Even if you were told you’d never walk again and didn’t, I would love to hear how you have coped and moved forward.
