"Lorenzen had been in the hospital since last Friday, when he was admitted to the ICU for “an infection, kidney [and] heart issues.” Matt Jones of KentuckySportsRadio.com, where Lorenzen occasionally covered football, reported the ex-QB’s death, and passed along a statement from the family," reported the outlet, who added that his family was most concerned about his children after he'd passed.

2. Jared Lorenzen once played football for the New York Giants

According to CNN, one of Jared Lorenzen's biggest claims to fame was due to his work with the New York Giants, who signed him as an undrafted free agent back in 2004. 

"Lorenzen played for Kentucky before signing with the New York Giants in 2004. "We lost a great one too soon today. Our hearts are with the Lorenzen family," the University of Kentucky Football team tweeted. Famed quarterback Eli Manning mourned the former NFL player and fellow Giant," reported the outlet.

The NFL was devastated to hear about Jared Lorenzen's death.

After it was announced that Jared Lorenzen had passed away, many people came out of the woodwork to talk about how he'd inspired them. 

One such person was Tommy Tomlinson, who told ESPN that Jared Lorenzen had inspired many people, including him. 

"I'm honored and humbled that the story on Jared has made a difference for so many. I wish my words had been strong enough to make the difference for Jared. 4. Jared Lorenzen's memorial services were just announced. 

According to CBS, Jared Lorenzen's memorial services were just announced, and what fans had found out was a bit surprising. 

"The family of former Kentucky quarterback Jared Lorenzen has announced funeral arrangements. The visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 10, at the St. Pius X Church on Dudley Rd. in Edgewood, KY. The visitation runs from 2pm to 6pm. It will be followed by burial service at the church beginning at 6pm. Linnemann family funeral homes is handling the arrangements. The family has asked, in lieu of flowers, for donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN., Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center for Better Health and Nutrition, and United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation in Pittsburgh, PA," reported the outlet
