The two struck out when they were on the Bachelor and Bachelorette, respectively. They decided to take a chance on finding love on TV one more time on this season of Australia's Bachelor in Paradise. Caroline and Alex traveled across the world only to end up with someone from their own country. Alex Bordyukov is a 30-year-old Russian American model from Michigan. Bachelor Nation first met him on Rachel Lindsey's season of The Bachelorette in 2017. He proved to be quick-witted and initially charmed the accomplished attorney. However, he was eliminated in week six.

Caroline Lunny is a 28-year-old former Miss Massachusetts. She is a real estate agent and currently living in Florida. She made her first Bachelor franchise appearance on Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s season of The Bachelor. She was eliminated in week four.

In fact, when the show ended, they headed back to the U.S. as a couple.

When Alex and Caroline left Paradise, they dated for a few months. Unlike the Australian contestants, they were able to go on dates in public and allow their relationship to develop naturally. Alex told Mamamia: “When we left, we dated for a few months but unfortunately we ultimately decided that we weren’t going to pursue it. We still maintain a friendship, we speak on a weekly basis but there’s no more romantic involvement. For us, I don’t think it was that dramatic. Our relationship was very effortless, even from that first interaction. When we left things actually got better,” he said. It was a lot more fun, there was a lot less stress and pressure and no cameras around. We saw each other a couple of times, I flew down there. Things were great, and I think it was a very easy transition for us.”
Both Caroline and Alex confirmed on IG that they had broken up. Alex said that getting to know Caroline was a “privilege."
