So, it's safe to assume that we all know that movies can be pretty unrealistic at times, especially when it comes to love and romance. But for some reason, knowing that doesn't stop us from comparing our own relationships to the ones that we see on the big screen. After being married for so long, it can be incredibly hard to acknowledge the changes happening both in and out of the bedroom. Sometimes, our expectations for our sex life don't match up with reality. Being able to talk about our wants and needs is the first step to bringing that intimacy back. Just because you're married doesn't mean that you can't spice it up in bed!

When YourTango Experts Senior VP Melanie Gorman talks to EFT trainers Elana KatzZoya Simakhodskaya, and George Faller as well as author Dr. Sue Johnson about why we shouldn't measure the love we have for our partners by the amount of intimacy in our relationships, we couldn't agree more. Whether it's the kids running around or having to work all day, there are so many outside factors that can influence just how often we are in the mood. The more comfortable we are with our partners, the easier it is to bring up our concerns over everything. The only way to spice it up in bed is to take action and mention everything that we found satisfying (and not so satisfying) from the last time we were intimate. Remembering that everything isn't always going to be picture perfect will definitely go a long way in improvingthings in the bedroom.
