Somebody’s salty AF! TV personality and rapper, Chanel West Coast made headlines after taking to IG to air her anger at MTV for blocking her face with an ad for the VMAs. In the now deleted Instagram post, Coast issued the following complaint: 

“Hey @mtv can we please fire someone?” What person with no common sense puts the countdown graphics at top of screen???? They should be at bottom of screen always. This is [the] second year in a row you covered my face with a countdown ALL day for numerous episodes.” 

Many of fans were quick to comment in solidarity and support for the burgeoning artist, who ended up walking the red carpet at the 2019 VMAs in a bold get-up. While the VMAs are long gone until next year, Coast isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. In fact, she’s just getting started, making waves in her career. Read on for the must-know facts about her. 1. She is currently the cohost of the MTV hit show, Ridiculousness.

The show has been around since 2011, and has no signs of slowing down. She and TV personality/cohost, Rob Dydrek, go through the craziest viral videos and add their own unique commentary, drawing in fans for 15 seasons; and of course, Coast's laugh has been a hot topic of discussion in the public eye for years. 2. She has a prominent career in TV.

Coast has been around for a while in the TV world, touting an extensive resume that has helped her build a durable career. She received her first opportunity through Rob Dyrdrek’s now-defunct show, Fantasy Factory, where she worked as a receptionist. Later on, she made her acting debut, appearing in an episode in the MTV series, The Hard Times of RJ Berger. The rest, as we know, is history. She was a cast member on Love and Hip-Hop: Hollywood in 2017, and has taken on numerous roles in the industry.

3. She is signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money label.

You know, the label responsible for hit albums like Thank Me Later, Take Care, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, Scorpion, Pink Friday, and more. Coast began recording her music and collaborating with artists in 2009. Since then, her career has skyrocketed. Under the Young Money label, she released a mixtape in 2013 that featured industry greats, including Snoop Dogg and French Montana. From there, she went on two headlining tours, and continues to make new music for her dedicated fans.

4. She just released her new single, “I Be Like.”

And it’s really, really catchy. Featuring rapper, Dax, the highly anticipated “I Be Like” has mixed reviews; but nonetheless, it showcases Coast’s larger-than-life, fun personality.
