The Words That Hurt The MOST To Hear, According To Your Zodiac Sign

"Use your words" is something that parents tell their children when they don't want them to react in a physical way. And most of the time, speaking about your frustration is better than hitting, scratching, or punching the other person.

The problem is that sometimes we don't realize the power of words and how the wrong thing said can be devastating. Words can definitely hurt us.

All of us have been in situations where we said something we almost immediately regretted. Maybe you're in a fight with a loved one or in the middle of the breakup conversation and you're in so much pain that you have to lash out. You know it's wrong; you know that what you're saying is going to hurt the other person, but maybe for that moment you don't care.

Sometimes we say things just to get a reaction — it doesn't matter if it's a positive or a negative reaction, we just want the other person to be affected by what we say. Other times, we think carefully about our words, going over them in our heads before saying them.

There are also situations where we're so upset that we don't even realize what we're saying, and when it comes out we're as shocked as anybody. When a stranger says something mean it hurts, but when someone we're close to says something cruel it's ten times as hurtful.

It would be great if we could all develop tough skins and know that when someone says something cruel, it's not about us but more about them and what they're going through. Still, some words just hurt more than others and there are things that people can tell us that will completely surprise us in the way they emotionally devastate us.

Aries (March 21 - April 19): "Calm down."

Aries, when your man — or anyone for that matter — tells you to calm down, it just makes you even angrier and more upset. Calm down stops you in your tracks and can momentarily zap you of your energy. But when that feeling passes, it can make you do something a little foolhardy and impulsive.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20): "She's hot."

If you're out with your man and he points out another woman and says that she's attractive, you know there's going to be a major jealousy flare-up, even if you're the one who brought up her looks in the first place. Taurus, he should never comment on another's woman's looks to you, even if he tries to flip the script and say how she's not as hot as you.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20): "That's a stupid thing to say."

Gemini, if someone tells you that something you said wasn't brilliant, hilarious, or both, they might as well stab you in the heart. You pride yourself on being articulate and intelligent, and that one little line can completely derail both of those and your confidence.

Cancer (June 21 - July 22): "Get away from me, you're too needy."

It took you so long to trust your guy, Cancer, and when he says things like that, it practically breaks you in two. You thought that with him you were in a safe place and could express your feelings, but with that line, he's betrayed your sense of trust and comfort.

If you're not feeling well and he says that, you're not going to feel better, Leo. If you feel great and he says that, he's done. You pride yourself on your appearance and your personality, and it's not helpful for him to say something that negative about you, especially since you didn't ask or want his opinion in the first place.

Virgo (August 23 - September 22): "Why can't we be more like (couple you both know)?"

When your partner compares you to another couple, it's not helpful. It makes you think there's something wrong with your relationship and you're going to get into full-on analytical mode. Virgo, has your partner been secretly coveting that relationship without telling you? If he felt you were lacking in some way, he should have said something before and you could have worked on the problem. Now, you feel it's too late and that you might as well break up.
