YourTango Advertising Sales Representatives

We are seeking seasoned professionals to join YourTango as independent sales representatives. Positions available in Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, New York and Texas.

You will be responsible for originating and closing digital ad sales and sponsorships, including creating sales strategies and proposals for new accounts, with the goal of driving significant revenue and establishing our leadership within the love and relationships category.  

You will need to identify, develop, pitch, and execute a variety of ad sales initiatives, which will include the leveraging of video inventory via overlay/in-stream units, sponsored interactive applications, branded entertainment (video and written), along with selling display ads, skins, specific channels, and newsletters.

The ideal candidate possesses a proven ability to initiate, develop, and close online sales; a positive, energetic attitude, and a creative, entrepreneurial spirit.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Originate, manage and scale a revenue pipeline with advertisers, agencies, and partners
• Cultivate and pitch leads, draft proposals, negotiate terms, secure signed insertion orders
• Develop and maintain a prospecting and targeting system and provide weekly/monthly pipeline reporting to the CEO
• Formulate and implement innovative sponsorship packages that maximize revenue opportunities with brands and agencies
• Drive results in a fast paced, resource-conscious environment with creativity and a solutions-based style

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of 8 years in media sales
• Worked successfully in a small company, entrepreneurial environment; must be a self-starter
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with all levels of management and staff
• Upbeat, entrepreneurial attitude
• An aggressive and creative approach to sales
• A strong desire to help build a rapidly growing media brand
• Strong contacts with agencies and directly with a host of advertisers, including deep relationships in one or more of the following categories
  • Beauty
  • Fashion, jewelry, accessories
  • Food/CPG
  • Automotive
  • Home related
  • Liquor
  • Financial Services
  • Travel
  • Communication & consumer electronics

Role begins on a freelance/commission basis but offers possibility of a full time position.

Editorial Interns
Responsiblities include: writing for news/trends/celebrity blogs; contributing content ideas for video, features, polls, quizzes and photo galleries; photo research and editing; content tracking; blogger outreach; online community interaction and producing content in our CMS.

Requirements:

• Excellent writing and English skills
• Photoshop experience 
• Familiarity with online media (basic HTML, CMS and SEO experience) highly desirable
• Web savvy
• Part-time commitment

Photo/Production Interns
YourTango.com is seeking a fall photo/production intern, whose duties include:

   * Photo selection, production and optimization
   * Publishing features to the website
   * Optimizing articles for search engines

Small stipend and college credit available for full-time candidates. Basic ability with HTML and Photoshop a must.   Previous search engine marketing or other Internet marketing experience is helpful, but not required. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable web publishing experience.
