Creative person with an excellent foundation of design principles, typography, usable interfaces and information architecture.
Excellent communication skills. Should be able to put ideas into simple words, written or spoken, and ask the correct questions to understand what our goals are to transform them into effective designs.
Expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
Be able to create designs that can be practically implemented with HTML and CSS. And by practically implemented we mean something that doesn’t require lots of images.
Big plus for being able to turn the designs into actual code. This involves good knowledge of HTML5, CSS (with SASS for development would be great) and best practices for fast loading pages.
Another big plus for being able to design and/or code responsive design and modify Drupal 6 and Django 1.5.x templates.

YourTango Associate Editor/Web Producer

YourTango.com, the digital leader in love and relationships, is seeking a full time experienced associate editor to join its talented team. The editor will oversee the editing and production of blog posts, surveys and monthly campaigns for the YourTango Experts blog. The ideal candidate would come to our NYC office five days/week but that is negotiable.

Primary responsibilities include:

Writing, editing and assigning all experts content
Producing posts and slideshows in Drupal, our content management system

Optimizing posts for SEO
Brainstorming and pitching mental health-related ideas, with a focus on love and
relationships
Acting as a liaison between the editorial and experts teams
Interfacing with expert clients and providing them with editorial support as-needed
Contributing unique and creative ideas for big brand initiatives and campaigns

YourTango Video Editor/ Organizer

YourTango.com, leading Online Media Company, in NY is seeking a creative video editor to join our team.

The Editor/ Producer will be responsible for editing video created by our internal team and freelance producers. This editing will mostly be from single camera shoots but will also include multi-camera and the occasional "narrative" video. 4+ years of editing experience is required. Knowledge of shooting, lighting, directing, and storyboarding will be considered a plus. Some design experience is necessary, particularly very simple animations particularly in Motion or similar.

In addition to the technical editing skills, the Editor/ Producer will be charged with organizing the current video library, liaison with clients about the final product, optimize video for SEO, assist in marketing of both the finished video and video services and assist in shoot logistics (i.e. scheduling, location, travel, crew etc.).

Must be proficient in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Apple Motion and/or Adobe After Effects. Knowledge and/or possession of DSLR camera equipment a plus.

The position will begin as a part-time contractor but could easily grow into fulltime employment if the fit is perfect. Candidate does not have to be located in New York nor consider relocating.

Digital Advertising Sales Director

The candidate will be responsible for originating and closing digital ad sales and sponsorships, including creating sales strategies and proposals for new accounts, with the goal of generating significant revenue. The candidate will identify, develop, pitch, and execute a variety of ad sales initiatives, which will include leveraging video inventory via overlay/in-stream units, sponsored interactive applications, branded entertainment (video and written), along with selling display ads, skins, specific channels, and newsletters.

The candidate must have abundant client and agency contacts as well as a thorough understanding of digital advertising tools and workflows. He/she will be expected to have the ability to own an agency or direct-to-client sale from start to finish, including; working with Edit, Production and Ad Ops to create sales package ideas, crafting attractive responses to RFPs and seeing campaigns through completion. Familiarity with Ad Management and Planning tools, including Ad Servers, Reporting Tools and Ad Code/Tags is a plus.

Job functions/responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Originate, manage and scale a sales pipeline sufficient for meeting revenue goals
- Cultivate and pitch prospects, draft proposals, negotiate terms, and manage the contracting, review, and signature process for insertion orders
- Develop and maintain a prospecting and targeting system and provide regular reporting to the CEO

Freelance Web Producers

We are seeking freelance web producers to create content on our Drupal-based platform. This position involves taking already-existing content and inserting it into our system, making sure to fix formatting and to insert heds, deks, categories, tags, etc. The producers would also be responsible for conducting photo research, resizing and cropping images and uploading them to our site.

Requirements:

All work will be done remotely during week day business hours and intern will need access to his/her own computer and Internet in order to complete the internship.

Duties Include:
-Help optimize YourTango.com’s content for search engine rankings by creating internal and external article links
Assist in optimizing traffic YourTango.com sends to and receives from partner sites, such as Yahoo! Shine, Huffington Post, The Daily Beast, and more
-Create and format photo galleries and other content on YourTango.com
-Help list site Experts in Google places for search
-Interns with previous journalism or writing skills may also contribute and write articles

Required Skills & Experience:
