Is Britney Spears okay? This has been a recent question on the minds of the popular singer's fans.

The past year has certainly been a rocky one for Spears, between her treatment for mental health and the fact that she's still under a conservatorship at 38 years old.

Although the pop legend's social media posts have always been a bit confusing, lately, what she's been sharing on Instagram is an extra cause for concern. There's also the fact that she recently let fans know that she had burned down her own home gym.

Is Britney Spears okay?

Or should her fans be worried?

What's going on with her isn't totally clear, but here's what we know so far about her bizarre (even for Spears) social media posts and the gym incident.

Her recent video from Maui is concerning.

During a trip to Hawaii in February, Spears shared a video on Instagram of herself talking to (and about) birds, and something definitely seemed off about the video — especially considering the fact that she seems to be speaking in a fake British accent.

"I’ve never heard something so loud before in my life.... I felt like I was in a zoo !!!!! Such a cool day !!!!" Spears wrote in her caption.

She also shared similar photos in the same outfit several times.

Then in March, Spears posted the same photo wearing the same outfit three times on her Instagram.

Although her enthusiasm for the outfit was obvious, as she shared in the caption of one of the photos, it seems strange that she would share the exact same picture three times in a row — despite the fact that she explained that it was because she wasn't sure which of them she liked the best, and the only difference between them seems to be slight variations in lighting.

"Okay so this dress is from the 1920s.... it is made so well and the neck line is adorable !!!! I tore off the bottom ruffle of the dress and made it into a head band because I don’t like ruffles !!!!" Spears wrote in her caption. "It is honestly way more adorable in person. The way the dress is threaded is so damn cool.... I’ve never worn something so distinguished in my life."

Fans are sharing their worries.

In the comments of Spears' Instagram post featuring her 1920s outfit, fans aired their concerns and asked if she's doing okay.

"Omg what's going on?" one commenter wrote, while another said, "here we go again." Given that this is par for the course when it comes to Spears' social media presence, it's definitely interesting that these recent posts are causing her followers to raise their eyebrows.

Spears recently broke her foot.

In a video she shared in February, Spears filled fans in on the moment she broke her foot earlier in the month while dancing barefoot — and boyfriend Sam Asghari revealed that it required a trip to the hospital.

"When you break something it tends to heal stronger specially when you’re my Girl," Asghari wrote. "My lioness broke her metatarsal bone on her foot doing what she loves which is dancing. Wishing her the best recovery so she can jump, run, and dance her butt off."

Reportedly, she's feeling stronger and staying positive.

Despite what she's posted on Instagram, sources close to Spears have recently said that she's trying to live life on her own terms and is happier for it.

“She’s always had the support of her family, and while they’re still there, she’s doing the best she can as she really does want to make decisions for herself and do things on her own," the insider said.

"She used to be in a position to let people lead the way but she’s recently decided she’d like to live her life the way she wants to and do what she wants and it’s been very, very hard. There was some trouble from her family over the fact that she wanted to try to take her own leadership.”

Spears revealed that she burned down her personal gym.

Although it had actually happened six months prior, Spears told her fans in April that she had burned down the personal gym in her home. Spears' explanation as to what really caused the fire was a bit vague, as the only information she gave was that there were two candles and that "one thing lead to another."

After announcing this rather shocking news to everyone, Spears then immediately moves on to showing her fans a new workout. No one truly likes working out, but burning down a gym seems like a pretty extreme way to avoid getting in your daily sweat session.

But what's even starnger about the whole thing is that Spears' camp came out and revealed that there never actually was a fire and her gym never burned down. While they did confirm that candles were involved, it was nothing quite as serious as to what Spears had claimed it to be.

She recently angered Beyoncé fans.

About a week ago, Spears took to her Instagram posting a photo of a bee with a crown and the caption, "To all my fans who call me Queen B .... I believe this would be more accurate!!"

This, of course, shook Beyoncé fans, since she's always been affectionately known as Queen B by her beyhive. And they definitely didn't take it sitting down.

In the comments, one follower wrote, "Shots fired beehive," while another added, "Beyoncé is Queen B, don't get it twisted Brit," and another simply said, "Beyoncé has left the chat."

However, Spears has some pretty loyal followers of her own, who were more than ready to go to bat for the singer. One wrote, "Queen now, Queen forever," while another wrote, "SHE SAID WHAT SHE SAID."

Fans continue to be both puzzled and concerned by Spears' Instagram page.

In a post she just shared, Spears dances around and writes the caption, "I like to freestyle !!!!! There’s no routine here .... I’m just using my body to speak for me how it feels ..... !!!!!!!  PS this was shot just last night."

While some praised Spears, others still continue to voice concern. One fan wrote, "Do we cry, laugh, or call 911?"

Some more recent posts show Spears having a quarantine fashion show. Fans immediately zeroed in on how Spears was acting in the videos, wondering if she was okay and describing her behavior as "bizarre" and "robotic."

Is Britney Spears okay? She's the only one who can really answer that.

While her videos and photos are definitely strange (and the #FreeBritney movement continues to live on), Spears does seem happy and secure in her relationship with Asghari.

However, comedienne Heather McMahan may be a good place to start for Spears' fans who want to know more about what may be going on with the singer. She is noted as having an "encyclopedic knowledge of Britney Spears's life and career."

McMahan also appeared on a podcast in 2018 where she gave an in-depth discussion on her viral Britney 911 Instagram stories.

However, what's really going on behind closed doors is impossible to know without actually being a member of Spears' camp — but until they share an update (which may never happen), we'll be rooting for her... and keeping a close eye on her Instagram posts.
