Dating is very much hit or miss. And even when you hit it out of the park and think you’ve found someone spectacular and are swimming in love and happiness, it can all fall apart just like that.
Why? Because you just weren’t meant to be in the long run and probably should have just waited it out, instead of following your horoscope too closely and placing all your bets on the first person with whom you actually got to a third date. (Hey, I'm just being honest here!)
But because we all want to find “the one” so we never have to deal with all this dating BS again, the first thing you need to do is quit wasting your time. The second thing you need to do is be patient AF and wait.
Here’s the best type of guy for each zodiac sign.
ARIES (March 21 – April 19): The Assertive Adventurer
Aries, you have a lot of great qualities, but patience and being even-tempered just aren’t part of those.
What this means is you should wait for the guy who’s assertive enough to tell you when you’re wrong and energetic enough to keep up with you. Because a relationship with you is an adventure, both literally and metaphorically.
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20): The Patient Fashionista
Well, Taurus, no one needs to tell you just how stubborn and a pain in the ass you can be. While there are definitely people who find that aspect of you charming, it’s only someone who has a considerable amount of patience who can see things this way.
As for the fashionista end of things… come on, we all know you can’t resist a guy in a well-tailored suit.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 20): The Reassuring Artist
While he doesn’t have to be an artist, per se, he should definitely have a deep love for the arts, since art is so fundamentally important to you and who you are, Gemini.
Also, since you struggle with decisions and can easily be made nervous because of this, you want a guy who’s going to be able to take you by the hand and tell you everything, no matter how scary, is going to be A-OK.
CANCER (June 21 – July 22): The Positive Listener
Oh, how you love to tell stories, Cancer! So much so that you’re known amongst your friends as The Great Exaggerator — which isn’t a bad thing!
But while you’re a fantastic storyteller, you’re also quite the pessimist. Because of this, you need someone who truly enjoys listening to your tall tales and lifts you up when you’re having one of your down days.
LEO (July 23 – August 22): The Indulging Reality Check
Let’s not beat around the bush, Leo, you’re arrogant AF and if you’re not being treated like royalty, a fit is soon to follow.
So what’s a better guy worth waiting for than the one who’s going to force you to check yourself before you wreck yourself, all while occasionally indulging in your need to be treated like a damn queen? I rest my case.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22): The Easygoing Talker
As someone who’s very shy and can’t stand to be center stage, Virgo, you want to wait for someone who’s going to be at home being the life of the party while you stick to your wallflower ways.
Also, because you are so analytical and work-obsessed, an easygoing guy will remind you how to have fun and, oh, I don't know, how to relax for a change.
LIBRA (September 23 to October 22): The Beautiful Nonconformist
In Libra’s ideal world, everything is beautiful and perfect. Which means they absolutely should be waiting for someone beautiful, since perfection doesn’t exist.
Libra also puts a lot of emphasis on being an individual, turning their nose up at conventionality. So don’t even bother settling down until you find that gorgeous guy who wants to take the path less traveled with you.
SCORPIO (October 23 – November 21): The Honest Comedian
If there’s anything Scorpio hates, it’s dishonesty. And while no one will ever say, “Oh, Scorpios are funny," the right guy, who’s honest and can crack a joke, can really pull Scorpio out of their shell and even breakdown that hard exterior.
Hold out for the guy who makes you laugh until it hurts and who will never tell you a lie.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21): The Funny Philosopher
Sagittarius, you want to be free and travel the world! So you absolutely need to wait for the guy who’s not going to challenge that freedom ever.
A philosopher, especially one who knows how to make you laugh because having a sense of humor is so important to you, is going to understand your need to travel far and wide; he’ll never question it.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19): The Backbone Of Steel
Listen up, Capricorn, you’re kind of a hot mess. You’re cranky, you’re responsible to a fault, you hold a grudge forever, you’re condescending, and you tend to think you know EVERYTHING.
That being said, the guy you should wait for is the one who has a backbone made of steel who isn’t afraid to put you in your place when you’re being a jerk and, above all else, tolerate all those negative traits. You need that challenge and so does he, that’s what will make you such a great fit.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18): The Intellectual Idealist
As a dreamer who’s out to save the world, Aquarius, you want to wait for a guy who’s also a dreamer, to a degree, but not so much so that he can’t pull you back down to earth when you get carried away.
Making the world a better place and being uncompromising in this effort is simply how you live your life, and an idealist will support this part of you, but be intellectual enough to know when realism isn’t such a bad thing.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20): The Gentle Musician
Pisces, with your greatest loves being compassion, music, and romance, it only makes sense that you wait for a gentle musician. Nothing says true romance like having a song written about you and sung to you from under your window. So. Dreamy.
