You did the thing you NEVER thought you would do. The thing your parents told you to NEVER do. OR the thing your parents were guilty of the entirety of your childhood.
You cheated on a partner and it is the MOST devastating feeling for YOU — not to mention the one you love.
Cheating is never something we ever see ourselves doing. We never plan to cheat.
Well I guess some people do, but that’s not who we are talking about. We are talking about YOU and this was never part of your plan.
Whether you were in a bad place in your life when it happened or it was a SLOPPY weekend in Vegas. IT. HAPPENED. You can’t take it back.
No ifs, ands, or buts about it! And once you make that decision to cheat you immediately regret it. A regret that will live with you the rest of your life.

No matter the circumstances, drunk or sober, happy or sad, you made the decision to cheat and now you have to live with the repercussions.
Most likely, your partner is devastated, emotional, sad and more than anything else MAD. Which is entirely expected of them.
You lost their trust in you and you may never get it back.
But if you are lucky, they will listen to what you have to say. It may take 1000 text messages and a little bit of bribing but once you have their attention ... it’s time to give it all you got.

They'll listen to the apologies and the promises, but there is no guarantee they'll EVER take you back. You will be lucky if they even want to be “friends”.
